Felix,

Here's the thing ... yes these boards are bulky, but that in fact is what makes them work with my truck. Although not apparent in the pics I posted, you got to keep in mind the huge front end of the Hybrid compared to other Hoes/Yuks/Eskys. Because of it, whereas the beautiful Denali chrome trimmed running board looks good on non hybrids, it disappears on the Tahoe and looks small and awkward on it ... this is why this is the only chrome oem board that can work on the HyHoe. So in this case, bulky is what I actually needed. Does that make sense?

Yes it makes perfect sense. Im just glad you're happy with them! So... that door side moulding is staying on? Any plans on changing out or completely removing?

I'll answer both at once since they are somewhat related. :)

Because of the chrome on the boards the truck is now to chrome bottom heavy, so yes, the esky rack (once caps painted) will be going on.

I think that will frame the truck nicely.

I have a set of the LTZ door chrome trim sitting in the closet ... once the rack is on I will mock that up as well and see how it looks. I'm very mindful of not 'overchroming' her so the rack may be where the chrome stops.

lol, not the whole molding just the chrome trim that goes above it. :)
Sufficient for the LTZ look, if it's not too much chrome when mocked up I might consider buying the actual esky molding.

I'm confused. Got a pic of em? When u said "LTZ chrome trim" I thought you were referring to the same door moulding I have. Yea the oem esky chrome trim would look real good....

But it's the same trim that I have on the step pad on the rear bumper, maybe a little less wide I'm not sure.

Ahhhh I see. When you said "LTZ moulding" I got all excited inside Hahah.

I actually have some brand new chrome trim they sent me for my rear bumper bc the one I got was slightly the wrong length the first time. Never used it since I got the real esky bumper...

Yeah, I figured $25 was worth it to see what it would look like ... I'll just tape it up there with a few bits of regular tape to get an idea of the whole thing once the rack is on. If it works and is not too much chrome I'll get the real thing.

ahhh I see. That will be interesting to see how that looks and like you said for $25 if you don't like it you're not out much money. So you think you'll get that mocked up this weekend sometime and maybe installed if you like it?

Quick Q cause the tails are getting here today ..,.

They're supposed to be 'plug and play' ... is installing them as easy as unscrewing the couple of philips head screws inside the liftgate and popping them out or is there more to it than that?

In my "perfectionist/OCD" eyes, all it made me want to do was say "damn that rear bumper chrome trim looks clean"... Until a Denali or esky parked next to me. Damn them and their clean factory chrome trim!!!!

Felix, I assure you I'm on CL everyday looking for a black Esky/Nali rear bumper assy. :)

But for now I'm actually quite pleased with the strip ... it fits perfectly on my step pad.
