Lol, we just figured out why the hitch cover wasn't going in all the way at the top corners ...

It's one of the new ones with the side tabs and the bumper had no holes got them.
They're gone bye bye now ... didn't feel like drilling into my new bumper. :)

The two extra tabs are what really keeps it from falling off while on the road. A lot of people on other forums have complained about there's falling off on there 07/08's and the dealership told them to get the new one to prevent this.

What's the difference between a sill plate and a step shield?

Part numbers: 17802521 and 17802414

Dude I have no idea ... they are both stainless steel, they are slightly different shapes, so yes, I am serious.

I got scuffs on my front sills that I want to cover up ... quite frankly I wanted something black but GM doesn't make it.

sill plate is the plastic piece, some say CADILLAC on them, some say SUBURBAN, etc. The shield is the piece that actually goes on the metal on the other side of the rubber door seal.

Mmm ...

Sill plate: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/result...ber=17802521&singlepart=1&partnumber=17802521 (Brushed Stainless Steel Finish)

Step shield: http://www.gmpartstogo.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=284418 (brushed stainless steel)

The plate has the bowtie the shield doesn't ... other than that I don't see a 'plastic piece' or how the placement location is different.

Is this what you mean ... one is the lower one the upper?

I need a small favor from an nnbs Tahoe owner ...

Can you grab a tape measure, pop your hood, and take an exact measurement at the center from the back of the hood to the latch?

Thanks.
