Most all filters will work just fine. I like the longer ones and the K&N because of the 1" nut on the end makes removal easy for me and my kids. One of our trucks is driven a lot so I bought ACDelco filters for it and the appropriate oil filter socket, a 73P-15 for PF48s.
pf 48 looks like it was replaced with pf 48e-what i read is to get pf-63 instead everything the same except longer and more filter media.Anyone heard of that or using those.Maybe they are to long and would risk being struck by something.

I like the K&Ns too because of the nut but since these are pretty easy to get to I'll also use ACDelco & Wix if I see a good deal.

No problem with them. Been using the longer filter without issue for years. Rock Auto has both PF48s and PF48Es along with the longer ones.

Wix XP, always, IMO. @swathdiver, everyone knows that 1" lug nut on the end of the filter effects the MPG, c'mon man! Wind drag.
