Another Oil filter question

What oil filter do you guys use, I’ve always just used the ACdelco PF48 on my 08 Tahoe, I’ve had people tell me to run a taller filter is there any benefit to doing so?

Longer one is easier to grab a hold of when removing..
Theoretically, the longer one could trap more dirt or last a little longer if you waited that long..
Yet I have a couple PF48's laying around.. just because there's nothing wrong with stock.

Longer one physically has more capacity for both oil and dirt. If you change your oil filter every OTHER oil change, that's an even bigger plus.

My favorite flavor is the UPF series on all my LS engines....

Try taking the short filter off with no filter plyers will make u feel some type of way! Always feels like someone put it on with an empact.

That's one of the nice features of the UPF series filters. They're made a lot heavier duty. A gorilla could put it on and you'll still get it off without deforming it. No plastic inside either.

if money isn't a concern, amsoil is pretty much always the answer.


you'd have to cross reference what the longer part. number one for that one is.

I started out using the Purolator Boss PBL12222 (PF48 equivalent), but am now using the Baldwin B7449 (PF63 equivalent).

Been using the Fram Ultra Synthetic XG10060 for awhile now...averaging 6K miles give or take.
