@915_Tahoe can look up GM database for you

Did you look on GM Partsgiant?
I did check out some of the "genuine GM parts" websites.... ( I might have checked out Partsgiant, but don't remember )..... But they showed a multitude of shocks, ... everything but a Sachs-Nivomat type....

If you use your actual VIN (instead of model and year) on those sites they will typically list the shocks that were OE. It's best, though, to check with someone in the dealer network to confirm. Be persistent; if one dealer won't tell you, call another. Let your fingers do the walkin'.

Uh, .. you just reminded me...... Just after I bought my Yukon, I did get a VIN readout, at a dealer ( To check history, etc )...... The service records & dates , confirmed the purchase was a smart choice..... I'll look at the readout..... See if the details are specific....

Ok, good luck with that; I hope it works out. Nivomat is the technology developed by SACHS, and doesn't necessarily show up as a descriptor on every brand that offers it. Based on what I've seen I still don't think yours came with Nivomat technology for the rear shocks; I could be wrong.

I'd be curious if anyone else with an '05 or '06 4WD XL on this forum has ZW7 AND G65 on the RPO list, or if only the ZW7 code shows up.

If your rear shocks were changed, then, perhaps so were the springs. Better start researching those.
Good news..... I carefully, removed the part # decals off my springs....
They are OEM original. ( whew! )

ZW7 is the designation for Nivomat / Sachs shocks...... But ZW7 isn't the only code....
This website designates all codes.....

No, don't assume that. ZW7 does NOT specifically indicate Nivomat shocks. The GMT900s have ZW7 chassis packages without those shocks. G65 indicates the Nivomat shocks, and will be shown along with the ZW7 code where applicable. Yes, they're related codes, but not the same thing. In some cases the Nivomat shocks are just one part of the Premium Smooth Ride suspension package.

So,... Would my XL, with the Premium Smooth Ride Package..... It shows there are 3 versions of the ZW7..... The "Chassis Package" version may be the Nivomat installed, since the Nivomat is actually a component of the rear suspension...... more than just the 'ride quality'.....??
I'll contact my shock friend, and maybe he'll have an opinion.....
( The air-adjustable / shock ( with an air compressor ) is a chassis adjustment..... also?

I wouldn't think so, but take your VIN in with you. Ask the parts person to give you the part number(s) for the rear shocks, and a price and availability. Once you get the price you'll know if they're Nivomats or not. Regular shocks should be less than $100 each, probably less. The Nivomats will be way more than that.

Searching, Rock Auto, etc, The specific description for a "Nivomat" , shows many variations, for ..RWD, 4WD, ( ext. 20" wheels, not Z71.... )......
I want..... 2005 YUKON XL SLT 4 WD... ZW7 Premium ride - NIVOMAT.....
But none describe it as such..... There are variables..... when selecting.....
Then there's a selection.... Sachs ( WHICH I WANT)...., but the other manufacturer's VERSIONS, but Nivomat is not mentioned....
Grrrrrrrrrr..... I want OEM/ Sachs !! (( Part # 580-354 OR, 530-532 )) ??????

Amazon describes the Yukon XL, "OEM/ZW7" ( "530-532" shock ) as an "air lift premium shock".... BUT NIVOMAT is not said.......

I got the ACD 580-354 on the rear of mine. That is the correct ones for the self leveling Nivomats.

The part designation may be different if you had a Suburban... I believe....

You have a burban?? I remember reading the Nivomats had one part # on tahoes/Escalades etc. These were identical to what came off my Tahoe which was the OEM. The previous owner was too cheap to have replaced them.

I see what your issue is. There definitely is different part numbers for the Yukon XLs vs 05 My tahoe with the same darn smooth ride suspension. Typical GM nonsense. Disregard my post then.

I would suspect..... your Tahoe is less weight than a Suburban..... I have an XL.....
So the Nivomat may have different application numbers, due to weight...
