June 23rd update. Drove the Yukon through the mountains last weekend. This has the new Luk torque converter installed. I really like the way it works. All impressions are perfect so far. In the mountains I could go light on throttle on mild uphills and it held the lock unless I added more throttle to tell it to pull out of lock or downshift. Worked exactly as I think it should and impressed me. Almost felt like I had a manual transmission rolling through the hills. My tranny has the stock tune, no upgrades. So, Happy so far. The Luk feels better than OEM.
FYI: I rebuilt the transmission and replaced the torque converter on my 07 Escalade 3 years ago. The rebuild came with one of the standard rebuilt torque converters from Transtar, a reputable parts supplier to the tranny market. The Luk unit drives much better than the Transtar rebuilt Torque Converter. I feel the difference driving. The Transtar was fine, the Luk just feels better.
