We just welcomed to the world our new baby boy.

When putting the car seat in, I noticed it hits the rear entertainment screen. The solution of course is to move the front seat forward for more room, however that makes it more cramped my 6’ tall wide

Now considering selling my 2026 z71 for either one with no screens or just get a Suburban/XL (with no screens of course)

come on man, think
you can remove the screen for now until the baby is old enough to turn the car seat back the other direction.
skip to 2:50 for a how-to-remove it.

Get a smaller car seat. Been there, done that, kept the trucks!

My daughter has Twins about 1 year old in my old 21 with screens and has no issues. Trust me we have been up and down the scale with car seats and what works best. And of course, the best thing about twins is you have to have 2 of everything simultaneously!

Have you tried using this lever that moves the 2nd row seat forward and back? You could try sliding it more to the back towards the 3rd row and se if that gives you enough room for the car seat.

This is one huge benefit to the ‘21+ models 2nd row compared to previous generations.

Congrats on the baby, and I can't imagine getting rid of a 2026, that's financial suicide. A rear facing car seat is a problem on imho every vehicle when behind the driver (at least cars). So again I'd think removing the screen would be logical. What vehicle would be an alternative? Even getting a different car seat makes a lot more sense.

Yea, was gonna say, is the seat slid all the way back?

Seat is slid all the way back. There is juuuuust enough room to make it work but with my wife being tall, she tends to push the passenger seat back further than most.

Well end up keeping it and making it work. Besides, if I bring up buying another car she may end up murdering me (which would inadvertently solve this issue)

I found the second row “Captain seats” in my Denali don’t accept a booster seat. One side or the other rides up on the seat belt mounts. Why they put such narrow seats in the biggest SUV is beyond my thinking.

I would trade it for something else. I've always thought the built-in screens were not a good idea. Everyone just uses an iPad.

I found a suburban that I could trade for, I would lose the air suspension and HUD/digital rear view BUT I would be getting a diesel, lose the rear screens, and gain more interior space.

I know diesel prices are nuts but it also lengthens the life on a full tank.

Would yall make the switch or just ride it out?

(Purely hypothetical depending on numbers)
