Hi guys I'm back, Well the motor lasted a month and has been back to the mechanic 3 times since then. He fixed it two more time changing the same rod 3 times and we are dead once again. Now reading back into the post there was recommendations to do the DOD but it wasn't done. Yeah I regret it now knowing what the hell DOD is. When he worked on the truck the 3rd time he did replace the VLOM which worked for about 2,500 mile but it didn't last long. he recommended me to an LS specialist and he gave me the run down on getting the motor done the right way. Doing the DOD delete and changing the cam and everything else for about 8K. Im already in the whole 4,500. I was in the process of selling it when the ticking started during a test drive with a buyer and that f23k my day up. I would like to just replace the motor with something with low miles instead of messing with this damn motor. Can anyone suggest a reliable place I can get a used motor that I can just swap out. I cant spend 8k for a motor for this truck.

No effin' way. $8K for an AFM delete?! Can buy a whole other vehicle for that.

Is the parts market that scarce in Florida? No wrecked part-outs on Marketplace? A month ago, I scooped up a 140K-mile LC9 off my local Marketplce for $500 to have "just in case" when I lost a cylinder but didn't have time to investigate. Turns out it was a broken valve spring resulting in very minimal damage so I fixed it all and it's been good ever since. I just drove from Baton Rouge to Tampa on Wednesday and have been bombing around the area since with no issues.

If I weren't busy with a wedding, visiting fam, etc., I'd tell you to find a known good pull-out and and we'd reseal it and have it swapped over the weekend. I brought my MPVI and laptop so we could even tune out AFM if you wanted. There's no reason to pay even half of that $8k unless it's for a rebuilt engine with installation.

I think '09 is the limit for yours if you want a direct replacement. '10 and newer had VVT. For yours, a VIN "0" is the LMG. You could also use a VIN "3", which is RPO "LC9" used in the '07-'09 trucks and SUVs. It's basically the exact same as the LMG, just with an aluminum block.
