My Denali was hit on Friday!!!

I was down town when a woman tried to make a left hand turn from the middle lane!!! Luckily I always look in my mirrors, she was so damn blind I was passed her when she hit me. I was in the left lane and passed her then she turned right into me!! I hit the gas and swerved other wise she would have taken out my passenger quarter panel and rear tire but since I was able to try and avoid it she caught te passenger side bumper and scratched and scraped it. I thought for sure my new G4 light was gone but it was not hit at all. It ripped her whole front bumper off. I want my whole bumper replaced which they should do right? You can't get deep scratches out becaause that part is I guess plastic so they won't try and repair it will they? I want a new bumper and I would think they would have to replace it.I can't believe this!!!!

Wow, what an idiot I'm sorry to hear about your Denali.

If for some reason you have to end up paying for the bumper (which at all costs you shouldn't), you can always get one for 1/6th the price online. That's what I will do for mine since this idiot drove a forklift into my rear bumper cover.

If you have a deep scratch i the bumpers or hood you will need a whole new replacement for it.

If it's just gouged that is easily repaired and will not require replacement. If the plastic bumper is wrinkled or torn that is a different story but unless the damage is catastrophic plastic bumpers are repaired to brand new condition all the time.

its called plastic repair. if itll take the shop 1-2 hours at 55 dollers an hour to repair the scratches then the insurance would rather pay that then 500 dollers for an oem bumper. the brand we use is LORD Fusor 142 its really good stuff

Here is the damage

Alot of scratches and on the top part by the taillight is there is a little bump. The insurance guy came out this morning and said they have a machine to take out the scratches but when he saw the bump he said they would have to order a new bumper cover which I was happy about. He said they can order the bumper painted so when it comes in they might be able to put it on as I wait do you think they can do that?

not if hes ordering it oem. oe bumpers dont come painted they come black and ready to paint. maybe he meant they can get your paint code and order the bumper then paint it and then you can come in while they install it. but even if they did who is to say the paint matches? we paint match all vehicles we just use the paint code as a starting point. your better off dropping it off for a few days and let them take there time with it

Next time, let her hit you and when you get out of the truck - both you and your whole family should yell whip lash at the top of your lungs.

Take the family for a ride in a ambulance and then call Edgar Snyder.

End result, you will get a new vehicle and some money and you will get that old bag off the road and into a rest home where she belongs.

I think that by the time they get to be 75 years old that the state should take away their license anyways and make them ride the bus.

Who cares what she breaks, I would ask her if she could hit your vehicle a second time before the cops got there, that way you could get better lights then the ones you already had. Just make sure that they are ones that can only be bought in sets and not seperate - that way you get to keep the spare light.

OEM Bumper

When they replace my bumber with a new one does include a new chrome strip thats on the back and on the top of the bumper under the tag that black trim does that come with it to? I know he said he had to order a new hitch cover because that was seperate and does not come with the bumper.

unless the hitch cover was damaged i dont see why he would replace it? its not like once its taken off it can be reused? its just held on by two clips. and yes sometimes depending on the insurance company you will get a new step pad and chrome strip as they are sold seperate. alot of times when those step pads are removed the clips that hold them in break so then they will have to be replaced. unless your going to a shadetree.

the chrome piece is stuck on with 3m tape I think, I would guess they would replace it, there is a small scratch on it. What is a shadow tree?

a shadetree mechanice is what i meant. its a shady mechanic or body men who does just the bare minimum to satusfy you
