So I'm looking at what's available for my 2017 Tahoe. Not much to find using the search on here, so is there much difference between all the major brands besides the price? Gibson Flowmaster Force II Borla Magnaflow Corsa Gibson seems to be the cheapest, and the only one who offers separate outlet pipes. (split dual) I like most, am looking for the biggest bang for my buck when it comes to a purchase. I'm also trying to avoid anything that is obnoxiously loud, and also trying to avoid the drone at cruising speed 68-72 mph (1700 - 2000 rpm) For those of you who have purchased a cat back setup, what did you get and would you get it again? Thanks again Scott
I replace the exhaust on every car/suv I own, on my Suburban's I had Corsa and Borla systems, many, on my Escalade's I started with Corsa, and then switched to B&B, the B&B system was the best sounding exhaust system I ever had on an SUV, had 8 of their systems, my 2019 Callaway Tahoe has the Callaway system, think it's Borla, sounds nice, be better with long tube headers, but Callaway warranty issue with that. Had a Magnaflow system but the fit was a problem at the time I purchased it. Watch the Gibson drone on the highway, some complain about, others say no issue
Many folks here like the Magnaflow, as it gives them a good sound when they punch the pedal, but is quiet for normal driving. I have the Gibson Extreme cat-back dual exhaust system, but is is very loud, and most folks would consider it to be too loud. Also, on my dual exhaust system, I had to remove the spare tire and its heat shield, in order for the exhaust system to fit, and I suspect that the same is required for any cat-back dual exhaust system on this truck.
Gibson generally has multiple options for exhaust based on what look and sound your after. magnaflow tends to offer a more "refined" sound is its popular for regularly driven vehicles. flowmaster has also started offering a more refined option as thier typical force 2 systems tend to be. borla generally tends to be very mellow and silent unless your really getting on it. atleast with most of thier truck suv applications. generally if you get on YouTube and type in the exhaust your interested in p/n you can probably get some sound clips.
Borla (same as the GMPP I believe) can be found for ~$900 as a cat back. Found a few videos online and looks promising.
B&B? havnt heard of them. is it B&B performance or Billy boat exhaust? those are the results when googling lol. Trying to look into them to add to list of options for myself
I would second the choice for Corsa. Especially since your Tahoe has the 5.3L the factory exhaust is 3" pipe just like the Corsa System. Hands down Corsa does the best of providing more sound, better flow, with absolutely zero drone.
I have a Corsa Sport for my 2019 Suburban, 0 drone, awesome warmup growl, and no drone on the highway. It even sounds good in 4 cyl mode. Everything fit perfect and looks beautiful.
I am seriously considering the Corsa exhaust for my Tahoe. I see you like it. How much louder is it at cruise? I don't want to set off every car alarm in the parking garage.
