Ok awesome, so no issues with what you did? Are you talking about strut spacers as in the hockey puck type deal up top or the bottom U shaped things that go on the lower control arm?
There are pics of AT4’s out there with all available RC brand lifts. You should be GTG. I’m going to do the 3.5”

Thank you for your response and confirmation. I am so tempted to go up to the 3.5” lift…it’s for my wife and trying to keep it mellow, but I’d it was for me, I’d 100% go to the 3.5”

Well you can always change it later. A level just looks correct for a start. A 3.5” is about the minimum where you know it’s been lifted a little. But not so much that it looks bro dozer. IMO.

Agreed! I do like the look of the 3-3.5” kits and I do think its a good amount of lift. I do think the 6” lifts on a Tahoe/sub looked like too much. I just remembered though, looking at the the RC and ready lift kits, both specifically say that they won’t work with magnetic ride. Not sure why 2” works but not 3-3.5…I’m guessing it’s just past the point where magnetic ride starts to get messed up. I’m just hoping to keep the good ride of magnetic ride and still fit an ok sized tire under there

The 3.5 works with mag-ride. As does the 6”. Both of these trucks are mag ride. One is 6 and the other is 3.5.

Man, that 3.5 looks great! I just chatted with someone at rough country and he said that neither the 2” or 3.5” lifts work with magnetic ride. He said it creates driveline issues with the harmonic balancers and creates vibration. He did say however that they are developing kits that will work with magnetic ride and told me to check back late summer. As much as I want to lift my suburban right away, I’m going to have to hold off just to make sure I don’t mess up a $75k vehicle

Don’t think they seem to know what is going on. Mag ride is on the shocks.

I raised that exact point to them. He said it still throws off the harmonic balancer which causes vibration. I can’t see why he would want to turn down the business and why they would be developing a whole new kit if it wasn’t a real concern. There really aren’t a lot of kits out there that want to say they work with magnetic ride and I think that is why. It will fit and work..but could cause issues. I think it’s basically a “do it at your own risk” type of deal

It not uncommon for folks that work in these industries to not be car/truck people and have little idea what they work on. Liability will cause folks to ********.

Much like some cops or .mil folks. They work in an environment rich with firearms yet are as ignorant on the subject as let’s go brandon.

I’m with ya on that and also on the Let’s go Brandon! I hope you’re right. I’m conflicted now on what to do. I haven’t even gotten my suburban in yet, it’s still in transit to me…so I think my plan is to get it in and start looking to see if I want a 2 or 3.5” kit to start with. I do know that Ready Lift specifically states for their 3 inch kit that it does not work with magnetic ride and as I compare, it’s like for like..the same components as the rough country 3.5 lift

I’m in same boat. My AT4 is ordered. I will be doing the 3.5 RC for sure. Then sierra AT4 18” wheels and 295/65/18 duratracks.

The AT4’s are awesome! In retrospect, I wish I woulda gone that direction. I initially ordered a diesel and AT4/Z71’s didn’t come in that…so I ordered an RST to get the black trim. Diesel was delayed a ton, so I switched to the 6.2 package that included magnetic ride. I’ll be following you and asking you for updates to see if you might experience any vibration or anything. I appreciate all your responses and feedback

Hey @DWSmoot, would you mind chiming in on how the RC 2” lift is working out for you? Seems like you’ve had it on for 9-10 months now. I would assume if there was any vibration or anything, you would have felt it by now. Sorry if I’m blowing up this thread, just trying to be sure this lift is good for a magnetic ride truck

I had my RC 2” lift installed at 4WP. I heard the conversation 4WP had with RC and they confirmed it would work and it did, I have ZERO issues. I see a lot of people stating that RC is saying it won’t work. My guy at 4WP says he talks to a guy at RC quite often about these things. Maybe others are just talking to whoever answers the phone and reads the specs that does not have it listed. Not sure…

This is my guess too. Thanks for the input.

So what is the tallest, safest lift for an older Yukon. Looking at a 98 4 door 4wd for a hunting rig. I have some pretty rough terrain to go over so I need a lot of ground clearance.
