Man! I just love that supercharger whine!Last year with blower on a stock 6.2L with 155k miles on it.
serious question..I'm genuinely curious since it seems the general consensus here is that it would be frowned upon to sell or trade a used car that needs some work
how much more would you pay for a truck that just had some repairs vs one that simply left the repairs to the next owner? for instance if $1500 worth of suspension parts were just swapped out to clear the dash light, would you pay an extra $1500 for the vehicle? to me, it seems like it would be a bad financial decision for the previous owner to fix things only to sell it shortly after
I would not pay more than any blue book / nada value, and that value of course would be dependent upon the vehicles condition. So, this "car" blue books at 5K in excellent condition, and the owner just put in $1500 in parts, the blue book is still 5K, not $6,500. Now, if that car is 5K in excellent condition and needs $1500 worth of work, this car should now cost $3500.
If i am reading your question correctly.
Now , if there are add ons like a supercharger, and other mechanical upgrades, that owner may be able to fetch a little more, but only to the right buyer...
You know, you say that buuuuuut. I started thinking on it more. My trans pump is on its way out. Might be a month, might be a year, who knows....but lets say I sell my honda. It's 400 bucks a month....I put about 4 tanks of fuel in, @ 2.30ish, @13gal so about 120 bucks a month in fuel. Keeping in mind I do drive the burb ALSO, I put in another 80 bucks or so in fuel, per month in there. So, my tanks yield the same amount of driving, about ~400 miles. But the burb is about 36 gal, at that same 2.30 is 331 bucks a month, plus that original 80 that I was already putting into it, so 410 per mo in fuel. That quite literally my car payment.Have you priced a new replacement? That made it an easy decision to keep mine forever. A bit of money every year or two is nothing compared to those payments.

I thought you meant before buying another one. They definitely are not economical on fuel but if you have a use for a big vehicle, that's ours of choice. We need a good cargo area for our needs, so we stick with it. We use the gas miser when the space is not needed.
