My advice would be to ask the seller of the alternator if it's internally regulated. If the seller can't give you the correct answer, buy from someone else.

Someone asked pretty much the same question on another forum. Supposedly the 07+ trucks are regulated by either the PCM or the BCM. 06 and older trucks are not.
The guy was asking if the voltage could be adjusted with a tune, and Jenna told him no.
