I need this HD hood for by 2005 Suburban with a Duramax. Currently using the stock hood and my cold air induction piping hits the hood and it works itself loose.
Are these hoods hard to find, I would like a takeoff so I get the insulation and everything. If anyone has one or knows of one I would be interested.

I've got an OeM one I got from the GM dealership that I work for if you are interested. Not sure price on shipping

I will be in Colorado in July. We might be able work something out. I looks like you have been trying to modify yours to fit the GMC, have you given up on that.

Best mod in my opinion so far. Only paid $160 and a bit of elbow grease to clean it up.

Can someone tell me why amazon has it for 400+, and people asking for it for that price, but rockauto has it for 240?

I'm getting ready to buy it, and the GM part # 15745931 comes up on RA for $239.79.

Can someone confirm this is the right thing before I waste 240 bucks?

Anyone bought recently and know who has the best price on the actual GM part (not aftermarket)?

Also, how important is the under hood insulation? Can you swap your original insulation over?

Still nobody has done this for a Yukon? What "trimming" is needed? Is it just a little cutting, or cutting AND fabricating? I 'd like to get a white hood, but if i need to repaint etc its just not gonna be worth all that. Who can tell me exactly what was needed to make the hood fit the Yukon...

I just did this to a buddy's Sierra, it involves a little trimming around the headlights. I also had it tig welded on the underside where the cuts were made. I don't have any pics but once you get the hood on, it is self explanatory where to cut
