Hello, I have yet another NBS Tahoe. I wanted to go with the Cateye front end. (07 Classic) I understand the gist of the Swap and what’s required, but I have some questions. The 2002 Avalanche (with no cladding) has a Sierra front end similar, if not the same to the 03-06 Cateye. Since the Tahoe is an 02 and the Avalanche is an 02 will the Avy front bumper directly bolt on? Or are the brackets different as well? I know the 03 requires relocating the bumper brackets and welding them. I’d like to bypass the welding all together.

So… with 03-06 Cateye fenders, 02 Avy Bumper will this all bolt on to 2002 Tahoe? Thanks GOBBLESS

I’m tryna do this swap, and remembered the 02 Cateye Avalanche. But researching further proved that they use different mounting brackets (even the 02 Avalanche) I got the idea because I read where GM used the same brackets across the entire GMT800 platform for similar years. Thanks for the replies tho.

Just sat here tonight and watched multiple videos on a wide variety of things and only found 03 swaps with welding.

Do you have a welder and welding skills?

I remember someone on the silveradosierra.com website was asking how to do a cateye swap into a 99-02 bubble eye pickup. I believe just some bracketry needs welding. Should be the same for 00-02 SUV.

In the Mexican market they did use the cateye clip on the Suburban or whatever that's called down there. Not sure if you've seen those. I have seen a cateye or two driving around here, not sure the year though.

I do have welding equipment but, the house I just bought isn't set up for the power so it just sits.
