Hey all,

I'm looking to replace the halogen bulbs in my Tahoe LT (non HID) with "whiter" (4300-5000K) bulbs. My question is, since the low beam halogen bulb on these vehicles doubles as the DRLs (on the LTZ it's the LEDs but not on the LS & LT), is there anything special to consider in selecting a replacement bulb?

For instance, will the Phillips Diamond Vision or CrystalVision Ultra bulbs serve both functions equally well (DRL and Low Beam) because perhaps it's only a matter of wattage output, or is there the matter of a dual filament to consider? Any advice or experience with these bulbs would be appreciated.

Options:

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Diamo...eywords=PHILIPS+DIAMOND+VISION#productDetails

All lights on. Headlights look dingy in comparison to VLED 5000k LED fogs.

I would think any upgrade halogen would work fine. I have the OSRAM "cool blue" 9005 bulbs in my high beams and they match really well with the HIDs and vLED fogs.

They make the same bulb in an H11 which is the low beam for the yukon (double check your owners manual for the tahoe).

They are $25... Not sure if they are any better than silver stars or Phillips...

Thanks for the info Steve. Going to order right now. I hated the fact that the fogs don't match the headlights. I didn't think about the high beams until I saw your post. I'm going to change them as well.

My H11 Osram "Cool Blue" halogen bulbs for the headlights (low beam and DRL) finally arrived from the Retrofit Source (thanks again to Steve for the rec.). I'm very pleased. Though not quite as white as the 5000k VLED fogs (since these are 4300k), still very white (more so in person) and a huge improvement over stock bulbs. See what you think...

Thinking about doing the high beams as well now. Can you post a pic of what the Osram highbeam bulbs look like in daytime (unlit, of course)? I'm wondering if the blue tint on the bulbs stands out or looks cheesy through the lenses. Thx!

You can see the blue... I don't think it is really noticeable or looks bad; but, you can see it. I will try to snap a picture tomorrow.

You really don't notice the blue unless you are in the path of the headlight... Then you can see the blue reflecting off all the reflectors in the headlight. These last pictures are taken at the exact angle to capture the blue reflecting off the headlight it doesn't look like this unless you bend down to the exact angle.
