considering they use a 4 link stock I'd vote against some buster ass 2 link.

Bagged out back w/ a combination of the ART kit and a McGaughey's 5" kit minus springs. I trimmed the cups after this pic was taken, so she rides about 1/2" lower out back now. After seeing what comes in the ART kit, I would just build it myself. Matter of fact, I am in the process of doing just that for a buddy's Tahoe...

Bagged out back w/ a combination of the ART kit and a McGaughey's 5" kit minus springs. I trimmed the cups after this pic was taken, so she rides about 1/2" lower out back now. After seeing what comes in the ART kit, I would just build it myself. Matter of fact, I am in the process of doing just that for a buddy's Tahoe...

i run 1/4 inch air lines and i can lift/drop quickly

it works better because the bigger air lines kink when coming out of the cups and then its hard to put air in/out of the bags



1/4 inch fittings are also smaller/shorter, so they let you run a shorter cup


and make sure you get compressoin fittings not push on style

what does taking off the sway bar do? pros/cons?

why do a 4 link when doing air bags? (i didnt)

what does a trailing arm relocator do?

Taking off the sway bar allows you to sit lower because there are panhard clearance issues if you are running stock suspension.
Djm sells a sway relocator that works well if you are doing less than a -7 drop


running a 4 link allows the suspension to be custom built so you can set travel, and you will need it to sink the truck once you get so low that the stock springs mounts are too close together and you start sitting on the collapsed bag, also it is a panhard free system so the is no left to right travel when the truck raises and lowers.

the trailing relocators drop the trailing arms so they clean the frame on the front end better and allow you to get the drop you want. it also (or so im told) adjust pinion angle slightly to bring driveshaft angle closer to stock.

im not sure if i know what its for but my understanding is that a sway bar keeps the truck from rolling on turns.


my sway bar almost hits the panhard but not yet so im considering taking it off

You can notch the cups and drill a hole in the spring pockets to give you a straight shot at the fittings.

I would leave it if it is not hitting. If you do run into problems, relocate it. Removal on these heavy trucks will cause all kinds of uncontrollable body roll that will lead to all sorts of interesting handling characteristics. Best to leave it in place unless absolutely necessary.

Is that with the bags in or no spring at all? Any issues with sway bar hitting? I'm curious to see how those work out, you should measure the rear fender height aired out too :cheers:

I'll measure it aired out in the mourning...
But out back that pic was with the very short cups and it aired out

do you still have the trailing arm? is that what it is laying on? im thinking about fabricating a new one so i can get as low as this one cus my truck is just dropped and the arm is very close to the frame and is hitting it i believe...

LOL No problem, I still need to get those pics of how my front is set-up.

and yes I am still on the factory four link in the rear. I would love to get my back end as low as that blue one but I think it cut in the back. If I remember I think he was on car domain a while back.

ITS OFFICIAL IM DROPPING MINE OFF MONDAY TO FINISH THE 4LINK AND RELOCATE THE BAGS FROM UNDER THE FRAMEEEEEEE

Call me effin stoked

no more of these issues



p.s. no sway bar on the rear and one set of valves (so air can actually travel from one rear bag across to the other on hard turns) is about as bad as it can possibly get.. and imo... its not that bad.

Are you cutting up the inside at all? if you what are you planning to do with everything?

no..no tubbing and yes this should have been done forever ago .. but i dropped it off planning on riding the bike all week and then florida flooded.. then the shop closed for tex heat wave show.. so now.. finally.. it will be dont and i WILL have pics of it all..

No we arent tubbing it.. just a c notch and a trim and pack the rims to the fenders.
