I am thinking of going to 22" CK 160 wheels with 285/45 Bridgestone Duelers. I was curious what the overall wheel & tire diameter is? Do any of you tow? Your thoughts on towing performance? I am concerned that this wheel & tire combo with reduce my towing capacity. It will if the diameter increases over the base 18" wheels I have now.

Here's a pic of the wheels on a Suburban. I know I saw at least one member with these on a Tahoe/Yukon.

I posted a while ago about some American Racing wheels, but decided not to make the purchase.

OEM tire sizes are all going to be about the same overall diameter. You could look up the load rating for the tire compared to your stock tires and see if it still keeps your GVWR but again they shouldn't be that much different.

The max tow Silverados come with the 20" wheels and Goodyear LS2's which aren't really anything special

a 285/45/22 should be 32.1 inches tall. That said, the Bridgestones measure about 31.75 on my truck. What are you towing? I don't have a 2015+, but I tow with my 2011 and did with my 2004 - both 5.3's and both on 22's with no issues whatsoever. I'm usually towing a heavy 4 wheel uhaul trailer with a VW or Porsche on top - probably 5-6K lbs and sometimes 7K

I just measured the stock 18's and they are 30.5". I am towing a 23.5' boat with tandem trailer and fuel it weighs in at about 6300lbs. I don't know how much all the equipment on board the boat adds. To be honest I didn't check the load rating on the Bridgestones, but I will.

Erik, thanks for the posting your experience towing with 22's. I have the 5.3 as well with the Max trailering package, 3.42 gears and 4WD. So looks like the overall diameter would increase about 1.25" by your measurement. Interesting. Thanks again.

Are you looking up the measurements of both or just measuring yours on the truck?
