So.... the 01 seems to be getting tired. only 267000 miles on it and it still looks good. A little rust beginning. Just replaced alternator and water pump. Ball joints getting loose, front seal starting to leak. That is about it. Im thinking of fixing it and just keeping it for pulling my boat and hunting. Oh and it needs new tires....

Let me know what you all think please.

If it meets your needs and only needs those few things done and as has been said, the alternative is more expensive, then fix the damn thing!

I was thinking the same about my 2001. I agree with the masses, fix it and keep it. I'm in the market for a new pickup truck but I won't sell the hoe.

I have a 2000 Yukon. Only 187K km (not miles). My problem, being in Canada, is rusting.

I've had lots of stuff break and be fixed. But still I keep fixing stuff, it's cheaper than getting a new vehicle!

I think when my motor goes out I'll buy a crate or a 6.0 if they drop in as easy as a 5.3

i feel ur pain ive just hit 340k on the oem motor and lots of stuff is falling apart.ive changed the rear 3 times bad used ones should have rebuilt it but price was right cuz im in the business.3 trans tried 2 used and finally just rebuilt the third with all the goodies good for about 425hp.then brakes, couple alts, new power steering pump,and water pump,stupid window regulator ive done bout 3 of those and of course mid summer the compressor goes.anyway the thing is ive done the brake upgrade its lowered now and with the good trans and a 6.0l waiting on my engine stand i think it would be hard to replace and then have to do all my upgrades again.so screw it im getting a new cam for the 6.o and i bout long tubes new injectors.i plan to put an escalade gate on it since ive got a nice pancake starting at my lock assembly and probably a true trac
