Fix for Broken escalade taillamp

Anyone remove the clear escalade taillight cover to have it replaced/repaired?
Ebay has a rear taillight with cracked/broken cover that works for 300, my current one is faulty electrical but good clear cover, has anyone removed the clear cover?

anyone repairing the electricals?
