first and foremost that dizzy(distrubutor) cap is 180 degrees backwards. you wiont start until that is fixed. hope you got the dizzy pre install dizzy alignment marks right. other wise damn the corrosion is nasty. someone posted this about that adapter if you dare try it. for the oil cooler lines are you saying your 99 does not have them installed and there are no cooler fittings in the left tank of radiator for them? An i could have sworn the autolites were suppose to be XP605's not 606's. please recheck that.
Just wanted to see who's paying attention with the DIZZY, it's not bolted tight yet. I'm actually gonna leave it off until the motor is set back inside the truck to avoid damaging it during install.
"someone posted this about that adapter.." ? Can you further explain please
And look at the pics - the orange filter and bracket do not have oil lines coming out, but the 97 do. There are mysterious silicone filled ports on my radiator, about the left side tank area you mention, I'll have to take pics tomorrow. I think I'm going to replace the oil lines and try to reuse the radiator (maybe, need to look further into it) and utilize the 97 oil cooler here.
But my 99 has a HUGE radiator, in front of the other radiator.. Not sure where the oil cooler could go. Make sense?
Not sure what all the radiators and coolers are about. I will get pics up in the AM, you guys can help me figure it out.
As far as the plugs go, I took 605's out, in good shape but kinda old. Figured the 606 number change had something to do with the iridium element. The size and lengths are identical so I didnt worry about it much, just figured it was one number cooler for the sake of the more efficient element.

Just saw your link. Disregard the comment about the adapter

Just checked it out. The hacksaw part is out, but I get the concept of gently chiseling out the soft broken piece.
I hit a plumbing buddy of mine up to see if he has any pipe extractors that small. See if he comes through, if not I will attempt a version of that link!
Thank you.
