Have a buddy with an 09 Denali short body. Think it needs a new axle bearing in the diff in front. Is that a press in bearing??

Looks like this: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=92075&cc=1443007&jsn=3416&jsn=3416

Of course the seal: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9481784&cc=1443007&jsn=3412

You can pull the bearing out with a slide hammer or a special made puller on the end of the slide hammer that looks like these: https://www.amazon.com/OTC-7494A-Re...585330617&sprefix=otc+special,aps,213&sr=8-32

You should use a tool like this to install the bearing and seal: https://www.amazon.com/OTC-4507-Bea...d=1585330697&sprefix=otc+spec,aps,209&sr=8-34

So, no, you do not have to press it in. A steady even blow with the hammer and these tools does it all.

Here's a diagram and this company is the OE supplier: http://www.demandaam.com/resources/pdf/file-20150130095409.pdf

You can replace individual parts or use parts kits. AllDataDIY for the shop manual. @Matthew Jeschke has rebuilt one on here before on an older model but essentially the same, lots of photos and references and an even more in depth pictorial.

I replaced the output shaft bearings. Was really easy minus getting spacers figured out on passenger side. that required some specs from shop manual. I could probably pull from all data. let me know if you need them.
