You do have some good recommendations. Do you typically drive from Miami to/from NYC?

You’re mention of Cafe 82 reminded me of Seinfeld. I think the place (Tom’s maybe) they went to in the show was not too far.

I drive up about 3 times a year. Sometimes I take I-95 all the way and sometimes I take I-95-I-26-I-77-1-81-I-78-New Jersey Turnpike. Have friends in Richmond Virginia so when I see them it is I-95 all the way. Going back up for the final time this year in October for 3 weeks.

Guy....you have literally one of the BIGGEST SUV's made, with the BIGGEST ENGINE you can possibly get.

You're not going to get phenomenal gas mileage with it.

People don't buy these trucks for the MPG. MPG is one of the last things that should be on your mind when buying something of this size.[/QUOLarge engine+6000

2018 Denali. I get 24mpg on my 30-mile trip to work IF I set cruise control to 72mph. If I do not use cruise control, I get about 20mpg with my speed somewhere near 72-75mph. City driving it gets 17mpg, but the fastest I drive is 55mph between the small towns around me. The 6.2 is vastly superior to my 2010 Tahoe's 5.3. Some of that is the 10-speed transmission. It is far superior to the Tahoe's. If your truck is a 6.2 with equivalent gearing to the Denali, and you use Premium gas and not ethanol, and don't get more than 20mpg on a 70mph highway trip, you have a problem.

My 2015 6.2 is vastly superior to my prior 2007 5.7 Suburban. Get around 20 with the 6.2, never more than 16mpg with the 5.3.

in my 2015 DENALI XL i driven this baby from Pennsylvania to Michigan with Cruise set at 78 MPH and i averaged 20 MPG it all depends on how heavy your foot is on the gas pedal and your driving style tend to make a difference. one thing i know for sure is those v8 engines doesn't like to idle at all !!!!!

2017 Escalade ESV, I can hit 22-24MPG on highway going 70MPH (if I’m careful maintaining a steady speed and NOT flooring it), and about 14MPG in the city driving normally. If I drive normally on the highway, I’ll get 21-22MPG. Amazing for an engine this large and powerful.

2016 Yukon XL Denali 8 spd gets 14 city / 21-22 hwy.
2012 Jeep GC 3.6L gets 16 and 26 hwy. Diggin that.
2004 Expedition 5.4L got 13.5 / 20-21 highway.
1996 F 250 7.5L got 8 / 10.

It's what I expected so far. Avg driving temperament. 70 mph hwy with AC on. Have not yet pulled the boat. Interested to see how the Denali does there.

I'm getting around 16 mpg combined city/highway. Almost all of my driving is in the city, unfortunately. Interestingly, this performance is essentially exactly the same as my last two Yukon Denali (2005 and 2009), all around 16 mpg.

So far I'm getting 13-14 here in the suburbs. Drives 10x better than our 02 surburban 5.3 which got about the same mpg around here. I have a 2000 mile trip coming up in a couple of mths.

Hello, long time lurker...

I have a 2018 Denali, city avg can vary anywhere between 15 and 18, on the highway avg is 22-24.

Towing a 21' bass boat my normal 74 mile round trip I can usually average around 12.8.

2018 Sierra Denali Ultimate (6.2) average 21.3 over its 7,000 mile life mix of city and highway I can easily get over 25 on a highway trip. The 6.2 is enjoyable to drive you just have to love that nudge forward when accelerating at a moderate pace the thing wants to be let loose. I have had a 2016 / 2017 and now this 2018 they all have averaged about the same mpg.

I have a 2019 Callaway Tahoe 6.2, gets 11 city and 27 highway, OF COURSE it depends on how you drive it, can empty the tank pretty quick, it's also surprisingly fast

That’s astonishing highway mileage. That’s 20% HIGHER than the smaller yukon engine.

I have a 2018 Yukon XL Denali with 18212 miles on it and average 14-17 in the city and 21-24 going to Florida and back from NY I can get 6-8 if I want!!! It goes extremely well for a house on wheels A lot better than my 2015 with the 8 speed. The 10 speed is a whole new thing

Our 2016 Denali 6.2/A8 had a lifetime average of 17.8mpg with a best of 24.4 driving from TX to OH. http://www.fuelly.com/car/gmc/yukon/2016/gastogo/391851

Our 2019 RST Suburban 6.2/A10 isn't even broken in. First tank was 18.8 and second is 20.1 with 719-miles on the clock. I will say the A10 makes the truck feel like a COMPLETELY different vehicle compared with the A8. Wife and I love it so far.

I’ve got 28 before - best above...while set on cruise (60mph) for a long trip running 93 octane with 8oz of marvel mystery oil in the tank (run it from time to time to help keep things clean)...

Everyone says this, the 10 speed feels completely different and way better than the 8 speed. GM sure did a good job with improving in their transmission.
