I figured I take it to the stealer while under warranty. $229 for an oil change!! Not even tire rotation! Originally they rung me up for $269 and I was like WTF. I noticed they put 8 cylinder so had to correct him too. That “dropped” the price to $229 because “2 less quarts of oil”.

Are these prices normal?

I've been paying about $100 for oil changes on the Dmax. That's only a few bucks more than it would cost to do it myself.

I paid around $100 for full synthetic, filters, top off all other fluids, rotation, and multipoint inspection. Tire shop that does other things.

Nope, just the oil & filter, no fuel filter.
He said it’s because “diesel and $120 in parts alone…”

Wow im surprised it was an hour job to change the oil. Or maybe thats half hour labor rate for your area... Id be upset if an oil change was over 100 bucks here in my town.

I've been using the AC Delco "gold" version of this filter. Much beefier and only a few dollars more....

I get my oil changed for $40 at my local repair shop, with a tire rotation, if needed. Non-synthetic oil.

I don't get the OP's dealer charging labor separately on an oil change. That's usually a one price deal.

The material is pricey for the 3.0..DuraYuk is correct. I buy it on amazon for 78.99 for 7 quarts and filter. It takes me about 30 minutes but I enjoy it and have a large garage at my house for DIY stuff. The oil is very hard to fond, so its $9-10 a quart. Only 2 manufactures at the moment, 0W-20 Diesel Oil is pretty rare.

RockAuto.com is a fantastic place to order car parts. I don't deal with Amazon, Autozone, Oreilly's, NAPA, etc... they have the best prices, super fast shipping and I always get exactly what I order.

Right now, 7qts of DexosD and the PF66 filter is $64 - with shipping. Shipping is $14 on top of the price you see below. You can often add other parts like air filters or parts for your other cars and the shipping will stay the same or barely increase. Helps spread the shipping cost around.

My dealer runs specials on oil change/rotation at $89. They are ripping you off big time.

What on earth??? My oil change and tire rotations are around 75 bucks....
My dealer charges $75+tax for full service oil change and tire rotation on a 5.3L Tahoe. They use only Mobile 1 synthetic. It’s far cheaper than just an oil change at Jiffy Lube. Plus, I get GM service points to use on future oil changes or service.

It takes far longer for them to do it than going elsewhere. I imagine they are checking everything to see what other services they can up sell.

I use my dealer, but always have a coupon saving me around $20 bucks from a nearby caddy shop.

Our local GM dealers are $80 - $90 for the baby dMax which isn't to bad.

Local Ram dealers are $280 for an ecoDiesel oil change. But... if you buy a 3 pack of oil changes the price drops to $105 per oil change with tire rotates included. Check to see if the GM dealers do something similar.
