I just saw this LY6 for sale on FB marketplace. Is this a good candidate to swap out my 5.3 LMG in my 2013 Tahoe?

I’d like to keep flex fuel capabilities, but it’s not a requirement - I never see e85 in my area. Would I have to use a l96 cam to do that, or are l96 and LY6 the same?

Is there anything that would not (or I should not) transfer over from the LMG? Intake, injectors, throttle body, sensors, etc?

i did some brief research on this before I bought my L96. I’m fairly certain the only thing for flex fuel is new injectors, some kind of ethanol sensor and maybe one more thing. But I didn’t see anything about having to replace the cam.

Yes, please! You lucky bastaducci ...

Only operant difference between an LY6 and an L96 is that L96s are flex-able.
Either @Tonyv__ is right, or the L96's flex-ability is even SIMPLER - it may all be in the tune and injectors.

Milk the L96 for all it's worth and everything it's got.
Whatever you DON't get from the L96, grumble as you begrudingly use the inferior but still very workable LMG stuff instead.
Only thing I'd NOT take from the L96 is its mech fan (then again, three fans would be ... unique ...)

BE SURE to alert your tuner to what's coming from the LMG, vs what came from the L96.

Thanks for the comments guys. False alarm on this one - I messaged the seller and asked what it came from. Answer: 2010 Denali. So it’s an aluminum 6.2 , not a 6.0. I’ll keep looking for a fully dressed l96.

Is there a reason you didn't want a 6.2?

BTW, it's moot now, but WRT the question about the intake manifold, the 5.3s have "cathedral port" heads and 6.0 and 6.2 have "rectangle port" heads, so the manifolds don't swap.
yeah, a couple. L96 swap desired to get a displacement increase AND fully eliminate AFM. with a 2010 6.2, I'd have to do lifter, cam, valley cover, etc swap, correct?

I'm looking for the simplest swap possible to meet my goals: increased torque for towing, cast iron block, 87 octane fuel, maximum interchangeability with LMG, etc. To me it seems like an L96 would be the easiest way to do that.

thanks for the heads up on the intake manifold differences. Good to know.
