Ive just always used the normal consumer-grade Meguiars one available at most autoparts stores.

Its always worked well for me, but ive never had to clay a car that was that bad before. Ive got a car coming up with a ton of shit on the paint. (hasnt been waxed in 10 years) so i may have to go to a more aggresive clay.

What do you use?

I should clarify on the liquid clay - All it really is is a cleaner wax. It will clean the paint, but should NOT be confused with a real clay bar.

And I should have ordered a new clay bar or two while i was placing my order with chris @ glimmer glass. No point in paying to ship something like that. Oh well, i'll just wait til i need something else.

There's a Mothers kit for around 16 buck that has a clay bar, a bottle of spray detailer to use with the clay bar, and small sample bottle of their cleaner wax. I saved the detailer for other uses and mixed up a spray bottle of car wash solution. I probably made it a little stronger with the car wash than I do for regular washing. Just spray with the spray bottle, rub the clay bar over it, move on.

My Liquid clay works pretty good Road1, keep in mind I have the Meguiars kit ( came with spray detailer, mini cleaner wax and 2 clay bars in a case) and also the ICE Turtle Wax Clay Liq. kit metioned above.
I have some paint specs in my car from annoying shoe polish writing on the window and the that washed onto the paint. It okk several scrubs and detailer mist to use the clay bar to get it off. While I decided to switch and use the Liquid clay on the other side and BAM it came off way quicker. I also used the liquid clay to remove paint overspray and emblem glue remainning after debadging, worked wonders everytime!
But then again to each his own right.....

Plus clay bars MAY put minor paint imperfections (swirls etc.) in the paint because of they're grasping of harmful things that could be dragged across the paint.

Like i said, all it really is is a cleaner wax. Sure it will take shit off the paint, but it can not and will not do what a clay bar will do - it is impossible.

Go do some reading on autopia.org if you dont believe me. There are tons of professional detailers on there and not a single one of them had a good thing to say about it.
