I disagree on the injectors.

With H/C/I/E .........at 5900 rpm I was damn near 100% duty cycle on the OEM 38# flexfuel injectors(this was on a 93 octane); that was at 360 wheel on the dyno. I have since upgraded to the OEM 50# flexfuel injectors from an L96/6.0

I accept this. Looked back over my napkin notes- 6 lbs is about the limit (mathematically) for FF injectors.

I was about to go down this route with my 5 3. It looks easy enough with the kits out there. Then you read stories about people nearly catching their ac lines on fire from the heat.

Unless its a project vehicle i wouldn't even consider it if it's a heavily used vehicle. But thats just me.

I ended up spending my cash on a 6.2 swap and i am very happy. 6.2 alone is 100 hp over a 5.3. Add headers small vvt cam and youre another 100 hp over that. More money but factory fit and reliability.

I was just gonna supercharge my 5.3 but it had high miles. Also reports of blowers obliterating MPG. I think id do a procharger since you can stay out of boost easier at low rpms and retain decent mpg.

With my 6.2, i tailored the shifts to shift at very low rpm with light pedal. It can get 14.5 in mixed drivinfmg this way. I couldn't do that with the 5.3.

You gained 100hp with a cam and headers on your 6.2l?

Any 6.2 will gain that easily. Ive built many 5.7, 6.0, and 6.2 engines. They all gain about that with headers cam and tuning.

What’s the average cost for a 6.2?

No idea the average. I found a 50k one shipped to my house for 3500 total. I spent around another 1000 on it with cam, lifters, gaskets. Of course scope creep sets in and I added stuff like a small converter and ed the heads. Its real fun to drive though.
