built transmission+gear ratio???

shop quoted me $3,800 to build my tranny w/ torque convertor and install on 08 yukon denali, they said it will be able to handle 800 hp, does that sound about right, any advice or suggestions would be great.

also wondering if anyone had any gear ratio suggestions, but i dont wanna be at 3,500 rpms goin 70mph

For $3800 I'd definetly want to see a list of parts they are going to be using. As said above five Chris a call at CircleD he is a good guy even if your just going to pick his brain.

Just curious, are you rebuilding the tranny to handle more power? If so, can you provide specs of your build?

yeah im rebuilding the tranny for power, im doing everything, too much to list, stage 3 cams and supporting mods, low comp pistons, ported heads, all internals and drive train and tvs2300 after everything else is done

Just picked up the latest Street Trucks magazine..there is a tech article of them putting a TVS1900 on a 6.2L went from around 400HP (290rwhp) to about 530HP (371rwhp) They should have done the 2300 no doubt.

Please keep us updated on the build for both, with a review. I have not seen a build for the 6L80.
