Garry,
fuel filter, plugs and wires and clean MAF, if you over 100K.

Get ready, you'll love it :)

Get MAF cleaner...don't touch the wires & just let it air-dry...

NGK TR-55's are popular plugs...

Stock wires are good replacements...no need for fancy wires really...

I would recommend getting Vette servo & installing it in your transmission...a trans service would be good too...search 'vette servo' for all the info...cheap & very helpful mod...

Amazon or eBay probably will find you the best prices on Delco parts...

use the stock delco iridium replacement plug if you want another 100k miles out of them. i dont believe the TR-55 are even a platinum plug. you will spend a little for them but will be done for another 100k.

i used auolite (the other ford OE) plug wires cause thats all the store had. still working fine 30k miles later. someone gave me a set of 9mm taylor wires. still sitting in the garage. i really dont see why i would need them on a stock motor. i may throw them in just cause.

Ive heard bad on them, like mentioned, dont fall for the 'added HP gains', just use ACDelcos or NGK Cam posted.

Will I feel a difference with the NGK's I'm just wondering bc I have never replaced these as this is my first car..

if you can afford the extra bones when you put gas in, do the 93, and run 91 octane, more power.

think of gas fillup, you put in 10 gallons, at $.40 higher, your talking $4.00

pay to play :)

what im thinking of is once you go to 91 octane you shouldnt ever switch back to a lower octane..or thats what i have heard...whats the difference in power? AND WHATS YOUR OCTANE TUNE?

Make sure you fill up with good fuel that matches or exceeds the level of tune you are getting. Both times I've gotten a tune several people had crappy fuel and it makes Justin's job harder.

If you CEL is lit you should have the codes read and fix any problems before the tune.

Check and replace your air filter if necessary.

As stated above clean the MAF sensor, replace your fuel filter and plugs and wires if necessary. Use NGK TR5IX plugs. I wouldn't use anything else except AC Delco OEM replacements if you want your engine to run right and last a while.

If you have the funds maybe invest in a Cold air intake and cat back exhaust.

Replace the PCV valve...it's cheap and inexpensive.

Clean the throttle body really well.

Make sure you don't have any blown fuses.

Basically, Justin is going to base his adjustments on how your engine is running. You want everything to be in tip top shape.

I just wanted to ask if i`m reading it right, You have a 93 tune but run 91 octane? I have a 93 tune and only run 93. With gas prices approaching $4.00 a gallon for 93 here in N.Y. i`d love to run 91 if it won`t hurt anything.

yes, all we have is 91 available. The computer will sense any detonation if I ahve any and will pull timing accordingly. I can run 87 if I want, it will still compensate. But mash the skinny, and I wont get all the power, unless I had a higher octane in it. So I just run 91 all the time. Course, all I have too :)
