bad valve cover

[07 Yukon Denali 1]

I changed my oil in my 07 denali on friday and by tuesday i had a sign on the dash saying that I was low on oil. So I checked the oil and it was a quart low. I took it to the shop and the mechanic told me that the valve cover and gasket needed to be replaced. Has anyone had any issues that can give advice?

You would have thought the tech would have told you about the updated valve cover for the PCV problem.
