From Grapevine huh, Coppell sound familiar?
But yeah people on here have the 6.2L but that engine is real sluggish w/o a custom tune, plus you have to worry about the rougher idles people with Denalis with the 6.2L complain about....

6.2 is beast with out a tune. With a tune its even better, ITs awesome, Get it. Rough idle is non existent on any that I have driven. It might have a more aggressive sounding exhaust but thats pretty cool, other than that its no big deal, Remember even if you do feel a but more idle, you got over 400 horses just sittin there, they gotta move some how.

eScrew rough idle who gives!? What RollinThunder said things a beast. My 5.7 with the shorty headers dual exhaust BBTune Cold Air intake is loud as ****. And that... Is why I love it =D. If only someone on here was so loaded they'd give me $10,000.00 I'd be the happiest man child in the world, I could fund an engine/trani build. Imagine... 4L80E trani and a big bad engine under their... 6.2L all the way. Gotta find a wrecked one somewhere with the engine in good/great condition.

If you want one good luck finding one. Better do it quick they are all but gone from what I've heard at the dealer I bought mine from. definately worth it, i would've loved to get one but the deal i got was a demo and it was the 5.3. It's taking all of my willpower to NOT put a blower, H&C, or drop the Esky motor that's sitting in my friend's performance shop into this truck lol... And I'm not convinced something won't be done if my wife were to "suddenly" vanish :secret:

My friend has a Siera Denali with the 6.2, tune, CAI and it's an animal.. I swear that truck vs my TBSS (when it was stock) would have hung on the door through 60mph. It feels like a 13.9 or so, which is ridiculous given it's mass:hands:

go get one!

I almost didn't get a 6.2 becuase the first one I drove felt SLOWER than my 5.3 2WD. I talked to a few people and everyone agreed that they need break-in miles so I finally did get a 6.2 4X4 a few months ago. I've got a little over 4K on it now, and it will leave a 5.3 for dead still bone stock. It should really haul with a tune and CAI. Biggest ***** is it averages 13.8 MPG VS 16 MPG for the '07 5.3 2WD. I have no issues so far with rough idling, just very thirsty.

I know where Classic is at, the huge place right around DFW.
I would say $56k is a good price, but to high for a Tahoe IMO.
I would say just get a Denali at this point.
And when I said sluggish, I meant the 6.2L Tahoes do have more power when your behind the steering when compared to the 5.3L, but for some reason they don't feel as good as the 6.2L in the Esky and Denalis, just what I heard!:hands:

Gotcha. I hadn't heard that. I've driven several 6.2 Denali's and Escalades and they all run like a ***** ape.

In the Denali or Escalade they rate it at 403 HP, but only 395 HP in the Tahoe. There's no difference in the motors, it's just a marketing thing, like my E55. 469 HP in the E55, 493 HP in the SL55 or S55 even though all of them dyno about the same. I have no trouble keeping up with or even pulling away from an Escalade, at least the one I ran into this weekend.

6.2 + BB Tune FTW. I'm running consistent 5.6-5.7 0-60 times with the only other performance mod being a Corsa Sport. If you can spend the extra $, you will definitely be happy you went with the 6.2. I only drove mine without a tune for a couple months, but I would not describe it as being sluggish at all.

I agree Tony... stoplight to stoplight stock TBSS's have nothing on a tuned 6.2 Tahoe/Denali. I've surprised quite a few and even beaten a couple. In the 1/4 it's tough to keep up though when you're driving a 6,000 pound brick.

That is one nice way to see that, I'm going to start using that phrase.
But I don't think the Tahoes 395 HP is a marketing scheme, there could be a small difference somewhere b/w the cars like the intake, factory tune or something?

No its marketing. They do that so its not as good as the denali or escalade.

They did the same with the Camaro and GXP, Camaro is 426, I think gxp is 425, But the corvette is 436. Just so owners dont say, hey I spent 60k on my corvette, why do they get the same power for 35k in their camaro? Kinda thing.

Exactly. MB did that on the E55 because it's the "lower" model than the SL or S class. No way the snobs buying the mega dollar S55 would want the "cheapo" E class to have the same power. I'm sure there are slight differences between a Tahoe, Escalade, and Denali, but really, the motors are the same and I doubt you could tell the difference of 8 HP if there is a difference. Strange 2 are rated at 403 HP, the Tahoe is 395 HP, but all of them are rated at 417 ft/lbs torque.
