Not sure if I'm posting in the proper forum, if not I apologize. I was at the by today and saw a Tahoe, not sure of the year, that had an aluminum radiator support. I've never seen that before . I've only seen what appeared to be steel .They we're always painted , and just felt like steel. Was this an oddball, or usual where Gm just discontinued it. I'm really curious .

Grabbed the rpo's. IMAG0237.jpgIMAG0236.jpgIMAG0238.jpg

Really? Pretty cool! I didn't know they came that way. Did that come with certain models or options?

I'm not sure but it was hard to paint it black so it wouldn't show through the grill.

Judging by those welds, that's not a factory part. Looks like China eBay stuff.

You really think so? I don't have pictures of mine but it didn't look like China Ebay stuff. And I would think they would use some cheap recycled steel not aluminum to be cheaper.

I may be wrong. Didn't see your post last time I looked. Missed it.

Those welds look kinda crappy though. That's all I was saying. LOL

Yeah, it seems mine looked better than that but I don't have pictures. All I know is that it was aluminum. And hard to paint because it was aluminum!

Every one I've seen in the wrecking yard is aluminum. I noticed it when I did the HD conversion on my Suburban.

I never noticed .Every one I've seen was painted black, so I assumed they we're steel. Took a magnet to mine today , didn't stick.

For the NNBS some are steel and some are aluminum. NBS I believe they were all aluminum.
