You mean the main difference between FoMoCo's 10R80 & GM's 10L80?
Both share ALL the same ratios
1st: 4.696 . . 2nd: 2.985 . . 3rd: 2.146 . . 4th: 1.769 . . 5th: 1.520 6th: 1.275
7th: 1.000 . . 8th: 0.854 . . 9th: 0.689 . . 10th: 0.636 . . . Rev: -4.866

can't speak to the electronics, or the bellhousings ...
I'm sorry Gm authority rounded the ratios up to whole numbers. GM uses helical gears for a quieter operation. the idler gear meshes between the converter drive gear and pump driven gear. Ford uses straight cut gears for idler and pump drive gears

Questions for you on the GMT900 Tahoe platform:

Is your rig 2WD or 4WD?
If 4WD; PSS is saying the 6 speed OEM transfer case gets reused, just needs the input shaft cut about 1" shorter
Purchase a 6-Bolt SFI Flex Plate with 8/10 speed converter pattern.
Since you’re Tahoe is lowered did you have to shorten your drive shaft at all?

This is great to hear. I think I saw online somewhere that HPTuner is how you tune the PSS units?

My goal for the truck is definitely longevity + towing performance. Currently, this is our long-haul travel truck but will be towing a large boat in the [near] future.

Yes. The PSS 10 speed swap kit comes with an unlocked TCM with a stock GM 10 speed tune on it. Since the TCM is unlocked you can simply get credits through HPTuners and start making adjustments to the transmission tune.

It's interesting to hear that the OP has just been running the stock tune in the unlocked TCM included in the PSS 10 speed conversion kit; Yet @SFLSteve is has needed to make further adjustments in the transmission tune and is still tweaking it to get better for his application. Part of that may be like @SFLSteve mentioned his vehicle has had a motor swap from a 5.3 to a 6.2.

Yes the LS motor I swapped in was a brand new L97 which matches up with a 2016 Escalade so I have a few different parts from a few different years trying to work together. My guy does use HP Tuners for the TCM tune. He started with the base tune but he said it needed a lot of adjustments. My truck is lowered, 2” front / 3.5 rear”. The drive shaft had to be cut down an 1”. My platform is 2wd, someone had asked.

The flex plate PSS recommended did not work with my setup because of the spacing with the converter. We used the below flex plate. We also installed a custom trans cooler which works great. Trans temp has barely gotten over 150 so far.

I found out Custom ECM does a good bit of the technical support for PSS and they said the flex plate is really the only thing that needs replacement in most cases. Otherwise everything is nearly just a bolt-on
