Does anyone know if there is a date that after the date they know that the engine is good with no problems or will this go on forever?

It’s been a moving target. I’m not sure gm even knows.

Engine build dates starting July 1, 2024 are supposed to be good, at least they are not recalling anything after this time period at the moment.

Does this mean all engines build from July 1, 2024 are good?? All I can say is I have 2 neighbors that have 2025 6.2l Yukon's and we cut the oil filters open from the first oil change on both and it does not appear promising!

Legally speaking, it means that GM will NOT stipulate that there is ANYthing wrong with engines built after 07/01/24; thus the PRESUMPTION that everything is fine is legally in effect until proof otherwise is provided.

2 - 2025 OE oil filters at the first oil change, one at 500 miles, the other at 1,200 miles opened up with more metal than I would expect for a new engine. Both had similar amounts of metal in the filters

Not looking promising for engines beyond the magic fix date.

Officially it is 01.07.2024, in fact there are already several opened engines with a production date after this date, and nothing has changed.

Everyone needs to understand that Vladimir is using the European/Russian date format 01.07.2024 = July 1, 2014 or 07/01/2024.

While GM is putzing around about what to do about my 6.2l, I decided to have lab work done when I change my oil. Attached is a lab report from the 13,600mile mark taken after a cross country trip to the west coast and I changed the oil again when I returned at 15,108 miles. This data shows no internal wear...so far. Just decided to put some real science to the question..."is my engine failing"? So far the answer is 'NO".

I have a 2022 Yukon with a 6.2 and I got the recall letter way back in the spring. The dealer keeps telling me my vehicle has not been released by GM for the recall yet. What's going on - are they trying to limit how many they inspect at a time so as not to overwhelm the dealers and supply of engines? They refused to switch me over to the 0w40 oil on the last oil changes which seems stupid so now I'm still running with the 0w20.
