I think the harsher the EPA rules the worse quality we are going to see...probably from all manufacturers.
The rules aren't getting harsher, they are getting rolled WAY BACK under the new EPA Administer Lee Zeldin

Much better days are coming for vehicle reliability but I don't think there was time for the 2026 models to reflect major changes; but 2027 will be a remarkable year in much the same way as 1999 marked a huge improvement that lasted until 2007 when DOD started the trip backwards again

After reading all of these responses to my question about the 6.2 reliability, I think I’m going to hold on to my 2019 Tahoe. I’ve also considered the diesel, but that’s an another story. My Tahoe has a 6.2 engine with 76,000 miles. I have had zero problems with it. The magna ride shocks in the front and air leveling rear have all been replaced (under extended warranty) which will be expiring soon. So, that’s the reason for ordering a new truck. I believe GM is coming out with 2 new engines for 2027 to replace both of the current V8 models. Not sure about waiting for those either.

Does anyone know for sure if the problems with the 6.2L engine have been corrected for the 2026 model year? I’m considering the ordering a 2026 Yukon but am still a little hesitant.
Run! dont walk! Mine almost killed me once.....stranded me later ,@ 48k, then 80k respectively. Dealer fixed under warranty first time
( took 3 weeks) then under my Extended Warranty ( that I paid $3K for) and I had to show every oil change ......or else! Just $100 Deductable ( Some oils done at local shop ! ) Had "Endurance Co." Warranty....run from Car Shield!!)

I traded 5K later. Loved all about it....except that dam engine. $185 "Range" diasabler Did NOT help!!

Now own a Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit, fully loaded @$72K MSRP, $66 sell. Has bullet proof , 293 HP , bullet proof ZF Automatice, air adjustable ride, heat/AC at all 4seats, front massage, passenger dash screen,. etc.

Sounds like V8 when it starts. Very fast to 60Mph. ( 6.2 secs @ 4500 lbs) Sorry GM. Had to bale..... Best wishes!

Traitor!

Just kidding and congrats on the Jeep
The Grand Cherokee is nice but under 300hp and “sounds like a V8” is nothing like a V8 if you are a motor head!

Part of me can’t blame you due to this fiasco that really tarnished the GM brand.

I have driven some rental Jeeps and they are pretty nice especially the Grand Wagoneer

No, they haven't changed anything. The engines are 25-26, exactly the same as the 21-24 model years.

It seems that Stellantis products have more problems than GM. Good luck.
I have the Jeep pug 3.6l in my Gladiator. No problems yet. I see the misfire issues all the time on the forum. Like the 6 2l, you see more on forums that in real life. I bought the 2026 with the 6 2l hoping the issue was resolved. Ford has had their share too. I blame on the EPA mandates.

Just curious if anything changed since this post? Did you still decide to hold off on the 6.2?
