Finally getting around to posting these pictures. Installed the 2" RC lift last week. Went with 285/60R/20 Ridge Grapplers on the stock 20x9 wheels with 2.25" BORA wheel spacers (minor plastic trimming involved); GM roof rack crossbars; K&N CAI, window tint, and removed the badges. Next mods will be a full Corsa exhaust system with quad tips, and tuning when it becomes available.

that looks really good. Are the spacers needed to keep them from rubbing?

No the spacers are not needed. They simply give the wider offset/stance I was looking for without having to replace the wheels. Ideally, when I lift my trucks I prefer a 20x10 wheel with a -24 offset, no spacers. I would compare this setup on the Tahoe to a aftermarket 20x9 wheel with a -12 offset. The tires stick out about 2" outside the fender. If you decide to use wheel spacers do NOT by cheap Chinese Amazon garbage. These spacers are custom made when ordered. Stick with BORA or Spidertrax wheel spacers and your good to go. There are a couple other brands out there but these are definitely the most well known, made in America, and thoroughly vetted in the Jeep communities. Proper installation and torqueing is key.

I understand all that…but as he asked, were the spacers needed?

Haaaa…you edited it because the question went unanswered. You did a lot of babbling, which was all good info, but indeed did not answer the question.

Anyway, thanks for the edit. As he had asked, i too was curious if they were actually needed or not. Sometimes bigger tires will rub on steering knuckles or other things that actually require the spacers (or aftermarket wheels) to physically be able to drive.

Your tahoe looks killer imo!

Thanks for the clarification. I've never been a fan of the tires outside of the fenders look. I do however like the look of taller tires on stock wheels with a moderate lift. I'm quickly running through the life of the stock tires and when I have to buy new tires, I want a plan to get the look I'm going for. Your look is what I'm looking to do Fireslayer...just not the tires past the fenders. :)

It looked great IMO without the spacers as well. I drove it that way a couple days until the spacers arrived. Unfortunately, no pictures taken before the spacers were installed.

Tires put on today but tint won’t be done until later (tint guy left early).

Here’s some pictures of the 2021 Z71 Tahoe with new BFG KO2 tires (stock size 275/60/20). Truck has air suspension so I took different photos at the lowest setting and the Normal setting.

It was rainy so not the best photos but hopefully this helps folks get a look at what to expect. I love the way they look on the Normal Drive height and they ride great!

Could you have gone up 285/60r20 pretty much 33.4” tall and just a little wider?

With the oem wheel at full lock there’s about 1/2” of space between the rear of the front 33” tire and the lining. Without additional offset it will be really close but might be okay. You could always nip/tuck back there for additional room if the upsize is important.

How does the 33x12.5 r20 look? I have seen the ones with 22 but will the 20” rims work with no rub

Some sweet looking rigs in here! Picked up my RST Diesel yesterday. Looking at level and wheels/tires. Has anyone regretted going to an LT tire as opposed to the factory P rated tire? Wife will be pissed if her new fancy Tahoe ends up riding like my pickup. Was thinking 17x8.5 Method 316s with a 285/75-17 Toyo AT3.

Leveled today. For those looking to level, I installed a Motofab 1” strut extension. Anything more than 1” on these new Tahoe’s (at least the Z71) will put the front end higher than the back. This is within 1/8” of level per the dealership measurement. Have noticed no change in ride with the lower strut extension.

Look at my post from a page back. It’s 33x12.5 on 20s. It rubs for sure but it’s not the end of the world. I can probably trim more too.

Dude…that’s basically my exact setup I want. Method 316’s and toyo at3’s. I’m getting a suburban RST 6.2 but actually wanted the diesel (just had to switch due to supply constraints). Only small difference is I’m looking at 18” wheels with a level lift. I’m going to try 295/70/18’s which is a 34”x11.5 width. I’m hoping to stuff them in. Are you thinking level lift or stock height? There’s a guy that just posted on here at stock height and has 285/70/17’s

I’ll be doing the same tire size, perhaps 65 series, and stock GM 18’s…..a 1/4 spacer is all that I think will be needed to clear arms. Maybe some minor trimming, but with a 3.5” lift I doubt it. A level, I’m sure you will be trimming. Maybe more than you want.
