I was over at a mates today to help him with a 1997 jeep Cherokee his deceased father left him.

While we were mucking about I thought I would take the engine cover off the Wrangler and check the possible oil filter issue @OR VietVet warned me of

Hopefully, has already had the updated version installed. Just make sure you look real close to the very bottom of where it lives. That is where the shiny oil leak lives. Also, if any oil sloshes around in there. it will spill out the back and on the bell housing and down. Happens when you accelerate.

Do you know if the upgraded one is aluminum? A buddy changed to the aluminum one due to a leak on the plastic one.

Yes had a real good look down there and is super clean and dry.
Very impressed with condition of everything under the bonnet.

Have been removing all of the Asian oriented safety/warning stickers when I see them.
Can't read Japanese so no point leaving the yellow colored stickers there.

The Jeep was manufactured for export.
Found the stickers inside driver door frame.

Is still plastic and will be filter cartridge I'm guessing looking at the housing.

I'm not confident with plastic subjected to varying engine temperatures over time so I will be going to aluminum at some stage too.
