Does anyone know of a scan tool that will program my new rke and my key fobs to my Yukon? Or do I have to take it to the dealership? Thanks
you can program modules yourself but it takes some investing in tools to do so and you need a pc or laptop or windows tablet. gm charges $45 for 2 years of programming (per vin number). used to be you could grab a mdi clone, but apparently some have been produced with malware and you can get locked out of your programming account. so a 3rd party adapter is probably your best option. Those typically run $300 and up

@j91z28d1 knows of a good cheap device (OBDx?).. (but you still need a computer and subscription to GM's programming website.)

The AutoSync (btdieselworks.com) will let you program key fobs. (you can just learn new ones without relearning all remotes with this particular device)
It's a great all around product that lets you read DTC's and see other sensor data in the factory cluster display.

Get the AutoSync. On 12-14 Denali it turns on back up cam during turn signal and or manually at anytime, any speed. He also just introduced Video/Navi/Phone screen use while in motion software.

Best of all it’s not vehicle specific so it can be resold if you sell the truck.

Explained further…

Autosync…

It’s weird .. remote door locks and remote start will not work . The the tire monitor light is also on.. I did see somewhere it’s all tight together. I have had the the key fobs checked and both are good ! Lost
I’m not the answer guy but
Mike

I have looked all over the net and no answer
I’m not the answers guy but I thought it was a part of the front passenger side window control. I’d start there, as ive found this to be true on similar GM models. Hope this helps

The dealer should only charge an hour to program everything to the truck as long as the part is installed just leave the pillar panel off in case they need to check the P/N. I just had a dealer program a new BCM and both key fobs for $180.00 that was a hours labor in my area but not all dealers will do that so call first, some said I would have to buy the BCM from them which was $300 more than I paid so I kept looking.

I think what you’re looking for is a PIP sensor. It’s on the back floor, under the carpet, right past the hump. Under the 3rd row seat. Mine has came unplugged several times. It’s about 4”X 1” it will (should be sitting on a stud

Also experiencing this issue on a 2012 chevy tahoe LT with the power lift gate. Is this sensor still located in the driver's pillar? Because thats where the lift gate motor is on mine

if memory serves me correctly it should be on the drivers rear pillar behind the cover, to get to it you have to take the rear hatch trim pieces off first, look for youtube videos on how to fix the rear hvac your going to get to it the same way except on the drivers side.
most of the videos are going to show 00-06 but these are basically the same, there is a hidden screw (on the pillar cover) on ours you will see a little egged shaped cover, pop that off and you will have access to the screw.
Is this also true on 2012 tahoe with power lift gate?

Why is Mr 'not answer guy' responding when already solved! I think he's an ai bot.

Should be driver side, either c or d pillar apparently..

The diagrams I linked are diffferent in that one was 4WD, and the other 2WD. (Both 2012 Yukon XL!)

But for the 2012 Tahoe, it's most likely in the rear D pillar for either 2WD or 4WD. (charm.li)

yes as already noted the rear drivers pillar or more forward towards the drivers rear door pillar, power liftgate or not I don't think has nothing to do with it.
