Brent, I'm assuming you'll just roll without a spare going forward? I've wanted to do this for years but being a vehicle we take on road trips I can't roll without a spare so curious to know what you'll do (if anything)

Yeah basically. No spare and going to get the OEM tire repair kit that came with the 13 Premiums. We do travel a ton in this car as well. But I thought about it if I ever did get a flat in the front I would then have to switch tires that are on the truck to the front then put the spare on the rear. Just to much hassle. Plus I have AAA.

Yeah, I have AAA too but there are times when you're in a less populated portion of the state where waiting on a tow truck would be a hindrance which is why I ask. Obviously, with your brakes you have to run a "bigger" spare than the normally provided 17 anyway. :hmm:

Yeah. So thinking OEM tire repair kit will at least get me to where I need. As I am in the same with going to the Pocono's a lot you travel through less populated areas. I am kinda thinking about taking my spare up there and leaving it. While at home I will at least I always have a spare set of rims around.

Yeah, good thinking. So that spare kit is something you can use on the side of the road? I should do some googling on that. If I could make it work and give the wife "peace of mind" at the same time I'll do it.

Yeah I know. The spare tire kit has a Jell supstance (like fix a flat) that plugs the hole and has a little compressor to blow the tire back up. I also seen something called I think Slime that does the same but it is not as bad as the jell stuff. That can be cleaned out easier.

Slime is not bad. Green thick liquid. I have a little compressor to air up the tires if something ever happens. Plus a can of fix a flat too. Excited to see the premium bumper on...

She is a little dirty. But looks damn good. Now I just have to figure out how to get the hitch cover attached.

Brent, what size exhaust do you plan to run to the exits in order to keep the spare tire?

Next is to fab exhaust around tire like Kenny did and then just cut two squares in the support frame behind the hitch cover for the tire hoist.

Not sure yet. I am going to take it to an exhaust shop next week to have them look at it.

I'll be interested to see what you do. Will you be sure to update your thread with what you end up doing?

Yup. I will more then likely bring pics of kenny's setup to the shop and also exhaust wrap the pipes.

I just don't see the sense of cutting the exact whole like oem for the tire hoist. I am not insterested in putting in a lock for it. If someone needs a spare tire that much they can have it.

found out why I can't mount the hitch cover. I am missing two nuts to hold on the hitch. So going to Dealership tomorrow.
