Nice finds! You might be able to send that grille to a plating shop. I'll bet they could clean it up and re-plate it for you with Chrome for a reasonable price.Junkyard scores of the day. Lower denali grille not in greatest of shape. But for 6 bucks itll work till another one comes along.
Absolutely not. Those are the first things to go. I swear the junkyard calls people to let them know. Its only been on the yard for 2 days and it was basically stripped. My taillights i think was because noone could get the tailgate open. But we jumped the hinge witb an 18volt batteryNice finds! You might be able to send that grille to a plating shop. And while we're celebrating you spending money, was the 6.2 from that donor still there?
ya, nobody knows how to open the rear gate, there is a dimple in the plastic (lower bottom center) you just drill a hole right there, stick a flat head screw driver in and you can pop the lock open, that's how the dealer does it when the motor/lock/actuator fails.Absolutely not. I was looking for the little tab cuz i watched a yt vid on it but the other guy came looking for a different peice on the tailgate and knew how to jump it.ya, nobody knows how to open the rear gate, there is a dimple in the plastic (lower bottom center) you just drill a hole right there, stick a flat head screw driver in and you can pop the lock open, that's how the dealer does it when the motor/lock/actuator fails.
if you look at yours you will see where the dimple is. (for future reference) needs to be about a 10" screwdriver roughly
*beware also that some thieves have figured out they can pop the rear glass open in a similar fashion by forcing the glass hatch lock open with a screwdriver inserted into the bottom edge lip where the lock is and prying it open.
The junkyards around me have automated emails for the model you are interested in. LS motors, rims, seats, etc. are gone very, very quickly.Absolutely not. Those are the first things to go. Got the Drivers Side Door Moldings off. Cut and Buffed the drivers side. Next up is the Passenger side and then an overall detail.
Have to get it ready for its first Trip in my ownership and it cant look ugly![]()
No idea what that mod is so Ima say no i didn't do itDid you do the floating roof mod or did it come like that?
Are you gonna paint the top corner body color?
I've been considering the mod.
Ohhh. Then No I bought the truck like that. I've only done what I've posted so far.Dang I hate when I don't hit reply to the messages in question.
@Sir_Hiro
Your exterior d-pillar is black instead of white. The black obviously matches the window glass. If you paint the top corner from the crease up (in line with the glass) to match body color, it gives the optical illusion the roof is floating.
Alternatively, you can paint your stock d pillar black, but black can be tricky to get right.
The subtle mods are my favorite.
Some Junkyards by me even go so far as posting the entire RPO Codes along with pictures of the entire car.The junkyards around me have automated emails for the model you are interested in. LS motors, rims, seats, etc. are gone very, very quickly.
