Okay.....so this sucks.

I am experiencing HyperFlashing on the left side of the G4.

Any suggestions guys?

Are these new G4 tails?

I had the same problem with one of my sets and sent it back to be replaced. It's not uncommon. If you're stuck with them I'm guessing the only solution is to get a new resistor for the hyperlashing one.

I will try and find you more info on exactly what I have for you. I replaced mine immediately cuz I've heard mixed reviews on those boxes. Before you wire in different resistors, though, I'd entertain the return idea cuz once you wire in new resistors returning them is not possible.

First, though, is double checking that reverse bulb :)

I had to send two sets back to revotec ... first set was filling up with water, second set was hyper flashing. Sent them both back and bought the more expensive Anzo version with no issues ... but that could have been a coincidence cause they looked identical, so I'm guessing same Chinese factory.

If you bought them from revotec he's really good about exchanges.

I believe mine are Anzo and I've had no issue either

Ok, then it's a resistor issue. I'd ask for a refund then rather than splicing into the wires. Technically they should work without hyperflash straight out of the box.

The resistor can be wired anywhere in the circuit though. You will need to place it somewhere across 12v+ and ground but you shouldn't have to mess with any of that wiring
In fact you should be able to remove the front turn signal and put the resistor there, at least for test purposes.

Actually, now you got me thinking ... I'm not sure because it's been a while since I had these lamps, but I believe the resistor box wires are on little plugs that can be removed. If so, take the one from the working lamp, plug it into the one that's hyper flashing, and see if it fixes the problem.

However, even if that is determined to be the issue, I'm of the opinion that new parts should be exchanged until the seller gets it right, rather than the buyer having to mcguyver it.

UPDATE:

Okay, so I pulled both lights. Swapped the grey resistor boxes. Left side light STILL hyperflashes.

Then I swapped the boxes back to the way they were, but this time swapped the lights themselves. No Hyperflashing on the light.

Unit itself is indeed defective, nothing to do with the resistors.

Looks like I got Serge's old set he returned the second time.

Here is a picture of them for the 18 hours they were on there.

Right now truck is back to stock, and a claim is filed.

Re: GoodInBlack's 2009 Suburban Build.

Yes. X2.

Such a bummer.

The stock lights in all their boring glory.... are IMO better built.

The plastic is sturdier and feels generally stronger. Again IMO.

They are made in Mexico by Hella.

Looks really clean with those lights. This might be the picture that makes me get them, lol. Being I have the same graystone metallic color paint. IMO it does go well.

On another note, has anyone seen a graystone mettallic with the 22" gray comp TBSS replicas?? Pics?? Was just wondering how the gray color match up... Thanks.

Hey Lucky, Here is my Photoshop. It is EXPERTLY done and no one will be able to even tell it is PhotoShop'd.

I have had the SAME exact thought as you before. The only problem is (as others here have noted as well) is that the greys do not match. VERY Seldom you see anything "greyed out", because everything (wheels) would have to be painted the stock color to match properly.

The TBSS are competion Grey. Our trucks are Greystone "Metallic".

The Metallic part will throw it off from the get go.

Though this PS picture looks good IMO.

I definitely saw a thread on here where someone posted pics of their graystone metallic Hoe on comp grey TBSS's. After seeing those pics I'm not totally sold. Maybe polished TBSS's wold work a bit better? Tried looking up the thread for you but no dice.

Lee... interested in picking up some freelance PS work?

Hey J.T.

I think you mean this one?

This is not 16U Greystone. It is a Texas Edition color, but kinda grey.

But you guys can see the mismatch in the paint to the wheels.

I have A LOT of pictures saved. You guys better be careful.
