Nope. They're relatively new oem wires I shaved down with a knife to fit in the fiberglass shields.

I got a bug up my butt last night and rotated the tires, finished off other misc, and took her for a drive. Not bad!

This morning I drove her to work. It was fun seeing people freak out at lights when smoke was coming out from under my hood as various oils were burning off


I think these headers are close to equal length. At idle a bit more rumble, cruising its just a normal quiet Yukon. Flooring it she ******* screams though. Not like a rowdy V8 because of the EL headers. I'll get a vid eventually. It sounds good though.

Waiting on the clip! Had shorties on my Ram and they were nice but the 6.2L sounds way better than the Ram ever did if I am being honest with myself.

I personally think rams sound great.

With these headers its less rumble and more howling scream. It strange, but cool. I had a 500hp Subaru STi. When I went to EL headers the rumble was gone and more scream.

It had a nice bite the stock muffler on my Laramie was pretty tame. Those trucks have tons of manifold and manifold bolt issues so that is why I did headers. I haven’t had a need for headers on my 6.2L yet but like them!

I've tried multiple times to get a good sound recording. Too much wind noise

I'll keep at it.

They're turning copper with heat. Neat.

Side effect to these headers, my drivers floor is heating up! The cat placement is much further down than stock and right under the floor. There isn't any heat shielding there.

I ordered some DEI heat shielding with adhesive backing. Its weather proof so I'll just place it right above the cat to see how it helps.

I wont be wrapping the header and cat like in this pic though

Got the thermal pad and everything all taped up. I went for a drive, not breaking the speed limit of course, and the floor was just ever so slightly warm. Big improvement so far.

Side note, I'm damn impressed with the fit and finish of this kooks header setup. No rubbing, no leaks, still looks ok after a few heat cycles


The pad pre cut to test fit. It's 10mm aluminum with fiberglass pad and adhesive back.
