I had a chance to test my Junk Yard Flex Fuel injectors with a diy set up. I found a 12 volt tester on eBay that had 4 different pulse widths at various timing that allowed me to verify that all of my injectors were working and fairly close to the same output. I rebuilt the injectors with new filter baskets, pintle caps and o-rings. I know the set-up looks ghetto, but it performed remarkably well.

I also have been using a flex fuel return fuel crossover on my TBSS intake. With the taller flex fuel injectors, I had zero interference and was able to build a spacer to mount the fuel rail.

Found some cheap spark plug insulating boots that I placed on my wires to protect them from the headers. I did remove the internal steel ring so I could get them over my boots.

So i had a bonehead moment the other day . I finally got the engine all buttoned up, transmission installed, new u joints installed and did my first start. I ran through the gears on the rebuilt trans and i did not have reverse. I started freaking out, wondering what i did wrong. I had pressure checked all the apply clutches, the teflon rings were all replaced on the pump. I knew I had to drop the pan and see if i could find any obvious problems. Well, I found it

The boost valve retaining clip was not seated properly during install. I just got sloppy at the end of my rebuild. There was a false ledge that i thought was where the C clip went. This time I made sure to get it fully seated and used a hook pick to verify it was in the groove. I now have reverse and the engine is running. It has almost been a year since i started the engine and transmission rebuild and it feels great to have her back again. I now just need to get her inspected and to have all of the emission readiness monitors checked. I have one drive cycle to do, and the Tech2 will do the EVAP test. All others are done.
