1999 OBS Radio Code

Does anyone know how I can get the theft lock code if I need it?
About to pull the factory Radio to put in another OBS GMC.
Dealer wants too much money.

i believe the dealers charge but i think gm will give it to you for free if you have the right phone number and the correct information when they ask.

Did you look through everything from the PO? Or maybe taped in the glove box or console? Folks write stuff in weird places

Is the theft deterrent enabled?

Pretty sure that the little red light flashes with ignition off if the theftlock is enabled.

Too, it would show LOC on the screen after a power outage (battery replacement) and require you to re-enter the code. Codes were numbers 000-1999 and owner-selected.

Thanks east302. The red light is not flashing.
Hopefully Theft lock is not enabled. About to find out.
