I think the gmc grill will look great. You'll have to paint that bumper though
Yes will look at that for sure.the chrome bead around the grill inset is in quite good condition and should polish up pretty good.
I'll wait until it is mounted and think about how I might change that then.
Is going to change the front slot. Have a few ideas.
Cheers [emoji106]

That's good idea. I haven't paid for the GMC one yet! It just turned up here from the North island. Will track the dude down & find out how much I owe him[emoji849]

Freedom!!
@Fosscore will laugh at that after our talk about road surveillance cameras earlier.[emoji1]

Is coming along Mike. As is usual for these Trucks as I am learning from others on here is that it is handy being a problem solver and learning the pitfalls of intended mods.
Is helping me rationalize my decision making and looking to where I can improve characteristics on the vehicle and what wasn't designed to be messed with.
I have a small list of things I am going to do over winter seeing as I have a garage to do some work in.

Jobs line up:
Fix valley leak
Get rear leaves rebuilt/new bushes/shackles
New shock absorbers front/rear
Wheel alignment
Repair paint install GMC grill

Really looking forward to how it will handle after a freshenup!

Thanks guys[emoji870][emoji1]

You already know what it takes and have the skills and insight.

This forum is so great for leaning about particular gens. I’m sure you have but dig thru that OBS thread.

So much good info and still many guys who have or have had that gen.

Those little niggly known issues can be a such a time and knuckle saver as you know.

Looking forward to progress.

Jealous of the ride. :)

I was having a look last night on Trademe and found some front shocks that will fit the Yukon. I couldn't find anything for the rear so I asked the question and they came back with this.[emoji122]

KYB monotube gas. Do you guys rate these as a good shock?[emoji848]

I reckon a new shock is going to be way better than the 24 year old factory smoosh rods that are currently hanging out underneath [emoji849][emoji1]

Hey [emoji2323]
Just picked up 1-2" lowering shackles from a guy. He has some new lights, both park and main he was going to use on a 92 he was doing up.
Is an American. Reckons he can get he a set of 4 Monroe shocks for $279 00 Not sure if that is U.S or N.Z $$

And a power steering sensor for $153.00 as I have been getting a bit of a surge cornering sometimes. Talking to him I found out what the problem is,maybe.
Thought it was possibly wheel alignment issue.

Reckons he gets stuff from the states and if they dont ship to New Zealand he sends it to his brothers and he sends to N.Z

What do you think? Give him a try?
Could be as close as I get to a relative in the states ayyy [emoji106][emoji107]?

Sure, I'd give him a try, but I don't think I'd give him the money 1st. I personally don't trust people. There's a lot of good people out there, but also a lot of bad people out there too!
I googled real quick and found this for a 2dr 4wd non lifted truck--

Thanks for having a look at those and sharing Tony.
I was going to have a look at our friends at Carid last night for some prices but didnt get to it.
Have messaged Eaglenest auto here in N.Z a couple of times about these shocks that they say ' that they have, yet to hear back. Maybe they are like the one you just shared and are feeling the worldwide shortage.

I'm hearing you about trusting people you dont know with your money. He is out of work and selling everything to get by so he wont have any money to purchase Suspension for me,tho that trust thing can go both ways. For him to spend money on the promise that I'll be around to collect the delivery[emoji848].

The price he quoted me was for a set of monroe shocks so maybe there is stock of those. I will talk to him to find out total cost landed here.

If it works out okay I would pay for it and be there while he is ordering it. Take the new lights and bits he is offering at around the same price and if the stuff lands I'll pay him for the lights. Just so I dont walk away empty handed, frustrated with a graze on my knuckles.
Lol hard work the this parts collecting haha[emoji106][emoji1][emoji6]

Those shocks I posted aren't for a lifted suspension, but I just wanted to give you an idea of price range--for the US unfortunately. I hope it works out to your advantage with the parts.
Be wary of caridad. I had made a post about them. Quite a few guys here have gotten the run around from them, including me. I ordered and prepaid for my rear Hellwig bar and they made me wait a month before telling me they didn't have it in stock, and they couldn't get it. They also had ignored prior sent emails to them, so again watch out for them.

Yes I saw and commented on the drama that Carididnt caused for you. So glad I wasn't in the same place as I wasn't far off pressing send it! as I had a shopping cart I had going with them.

Just had another company come forward this morning offering to source some shocks for me. I will pay for it as people have to clip their ticket on the way through.

Have resigned myself to just having to suck it up,pay and be happy with how freaking better the ride is going to be!!,,[emoji41],,

The truck has just about doubled in price here since I bought it so it'll be a classic in a few short years. Worth spending a dollar on!

Found a gasket,booked it in,will be done tomorrow [emoji106][emoji106]

Appreciate your input,cheers [emoji110]

Lol, I see what you did there!
Funny ayyyy[emoji1]
Just did a deal with Airride N.Z limited for a set of Monroe Magnums for $230 front $220 rear $18 shipping 6-8 days from the States.

Happy days [emoji106]
The Yukon is standard spring height but had 2" body lift and bumper shave to allow for the massive tyres it used to run.

I wound the front down an inch and doesn't rub in full lock forward/reverse so when I put these 2" drop shackles in the rear it should just about level it off to a more sporty height without losing freedom of movement in the torsion/front off road.

Should be good buddy!
New:
Sway bushes front/rear
Shocks front/rear
Rear leaf's
Wheel alignment
