hey guys. i have a 07 4x4 tahoe with the stock 17's. looking to go to 18's.

looking at a set of xd hoss in 18x9. they have 5.71 bs and come in either a +18 or + 30mm offset. 285-60-18 tires.

i have dealers telling me different things on whether the +18 will stock out past the fender wheels. apparently, +30mm is backorder forever.

anyone have any pics to see the difference ?

tirerack list the new dick cepek torques as a fitment - but according to DC - these will stick out also....

need some help finding a wheel that fits. also like the ATX crawl.

thx

I have 295 width tires with a 20mm offset wheel and the front tires stick out 1/2", the rear ones don't stick out at all.
With a 285 and 18mm offset, your rear will not stick out, while the fronts will less than 1/2".

i have +18 offset, with 295s rear looks perfect the front sticks out a little more than i would like it to, but looks good. only rubbing is when wheel is fully turned to the left.

It's not so cut and dry... The issue with offset is useless unless you include the wheel width.

So, a few notes:

The stock 17s are 7.5" wide.

The 18"x9" XD Hoss wheels in +18 or +30 cannot both have 5.71" backspacing. The different offset would mean that the back spacing is different. The +30 have the 5.71" bs, the +18 would have a back spacing of approximately 5.21".

Modded and macky, what width are your wheels? The offset is irrelevant unless we know the wheel width.

thanx for the explanation.

i'm looking at getting the dick cepek torques. 18x8.5" +20mm offset and 5.59 BS. tirerack says they will not stick out and DC says they will.......going with 285/60/18 tires.

this truck is a PITA to find aftermarket wheels for that i like.

2ELO my width is 10", and Henry I have 24s.
I do know the stock 20" wheels are a +31 offset on a 275 tire and 8.5" wide wheel.

Their calculation seems to be a bit off for the backspacing.... 20mm=0.79", 4.25" (half the rim width), so 4.25+0.79=5.04".

I'm not sure where they're getting 5.59"..... That would be closer to approximately +34mm offset.

Anyway, if those Torques truly are +20mm offset, they will stick out about 3/4" more than the OEM wheels.

If the 5.59" bs is correct and they're approximately +34mm offset, then they'll probably only stick out about 1/8" more than the OEM wheels.

Hope this helps!

from a website calculator :

shows DCs with a 285-60 tire stick out .8" farther and .4" farther with a 265-65 tire. either of those big enough to matter ?
