has anybody had luck finding a set of plastic slip on rocker panel covers? I see plenty for the Silverado/sierra and people cut them to fit but checking if that’s the only way. Appreciate any insight on a way to fix that isn’t going to cost me thousands to weld new ones on

Wow those are BAAAAAAAD. I'd cut them out and install new, although requires a welder and bunch of tools.

Last time I had this happen I ground out ALLL the bad metal. Then you SEAL it really well with a rust sealing paint. You're going to have holes all over the place when you do this.

Then I filled it with spray foam and you can putty over that / bondo / maybe bond to a fiberglass mesh.

Granted it super ghetto but may get you down the road for a while without rotting out the rest of the body.

For the cost of professional repairs, you could probably just buy another one from a salt free area........options

God speed my friend, start searching junkyards online across the southeast/west for a rust-free cab and plan a road trip with a grinding wheel and sawzaw. Plan to invest in a mig welder and enroll in YouTube university to get smart on welding.

But seriously, you're better off financially to find a rust-free or less rusty roller and swap everything over.

You can just cover it, but in a few months later you will have floorboards like Fred Flintstone.
