    Trouble code P0220

Doubeleive, read your post and got excited that it was just some random issue, guess I couldn't get that lucky! Cranked the truck this morning and had no engine at all and everything seemed normal. Drove the truck for 15 miles and after turning it off a few times the last time it did it all over...

    Trouble code P0220

That would be awesome, any way I can check the circuits would be an awesome start. Any ideas on how to check the circuits?

    Trouble code P0220

2004 Tahoe Z71 163k Miles. Haven't had any issues for a while with the truck, about 800 miles ago I was having issues with rough idle at stops. Tonight cranked a warm engine and the engine light came on with reduced engine power warning and a rough idle. Drove 20 feet and turned off truck for...

    4wd issue

Finally got around to testing the 4wd switch. Seems everything tests good as long as you push just right and not move any direction from there, the slightest move will through the numbers off. Gonna swap the switch first and go from there.

    4wd issue

It's been awhile since I've used 4wd, had a few issues with the 4wd switch but it always seems to fix itself. Tried out the 4wd today and it goes into 4wd Auto easy, no issue. When I try to switch into 4wd high, the light flashes then goes into 4wd Auto. In neutral, I switch to 4wd low and there...

Low idle when put into park

Doubeleive, do you think the catalytic converters could be bad or even the O2 sensors? If so how would I test them!

Low idle when put into park

Cleaned out the MAF sensor finally and it was kinda dirty, replaced the air filter just Incase also. Worked for a few days and then of course back to the same issue again. Talked with the Chevrolet dealer here and he said try disconnecting the MAF sensor while the engine is running and if the...

    Help 4x4 Problem ?

Not trying to high jack the thread, but I too am having a similar issue. 2004 Tahoe Z71 with 162K. No service 4wd message, but I do have a red indicator light for neutral on the 4wd button. Haven't put this truck in 4wd in over 4 years. Would this be a bad switch?

Low idle when put into park

Already checked for vacuum leaks and the truck is good. When I removed the throttle body for cleaning, I noticed when you move it there was a noise inside the black cover which I'm guessing is normal but maybe the next thing to look into. Is there a way to swap out just that or will I have to...

Low idle when put into park

Even after the intense cleaning on the throttle body I drive home and as I’m slowing down the RPM’s drop and almost stall! They go back up and as I put Tahoe in Park, the RPM’s drop again! Any thoughts?

Low idle when put into park

Removed the throttle body and gave it a good cleaning, have to see how it does afterwards, here are a few pictures of after it was removed!

Low idle when put into park

Tried the fuel additive with a few tanks of fuel and no fix! We have driven over 1500 miles, Tahoe does great until we have to stop or slow down, RPM's drop almost to 200 and truck almost stalls. Not fun driving through Denver at rush hour. Hit the gas and it's good to go. Stopped by Autozone to...

Low idle when put into park

Copy that, it's worth a try, thanks! Would it be an injector/fuel issue going from drive to park? Could it be a transmission part?

Low idle when put into park

2004 Tahoe Z71, idles perfect, drives great, until stopped and put into park. The Tahoe's RPM's drop down to around 350, but slowly raises back to normal. No issues on starting the Tahoe, Throttle body was recently cleaned and new battery was also installed. Also, no engine lights or any codes...

Properly supporting vehicle for oil pan gasket change

Changed the pan gasket and the O-ring, went to install everything and the corner of the oil pan you the filter broke off, so I have a new oil pan installed now! It was a lot easier than I expected, only a few bolts/nuts for the axle to lower down, and there is plenty of room to remove the pan...

    Oil pan gasket replacement

Maxclass, just as everyone said, you do not need to drain any fluid from the front differential. Just place a jack under the front diff, remove the bolts that hold the axle to the frame, then slowly lower the jack and axle down. It will only lower a couple inches down and rest on the frame...

Help me find this oil leak please!

Remove your starter and look above it, that is the crankshaft position sensor, may possibly be leaking from there, it has a small O-ring that seals it. Also, check behind the intake with a mirror and glance at the valley pan gasket or the oil pressure sensor, may be leaking enough to trail down...

    Hydroboost bleeding process

Today I finally got around to flushing all my old brake fluid out and bleeding out all four calipers until there was clean fluid. Went out for a drive and even slammed on the pedal to see how the ABS activated and all is great. I have a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with hydroboost. While driving I can quickly...

    Double din stereo

Cmc76, yours looks awesome and is exactly what I was talking about. What model and brand is your head unit? Any further info on parts would be sweet too, thanks.

    Double din stereo

I have a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with Onstar and the Bose system. I am looking to buy a new head unit for the Tahoe and love the double din setup, not looking to spend a fortune. The ones I see online that have been installed have had the dash insert trimmed or cut. Is there a double din stereo out there...

    Towing

I have 3.73 gears now in the Tahoe and the towing package. Been looking a maybe a 2006 2500HD with decent Mileage. New or anywhere couple years older is still way to expensive. Thanks for the ideas

    Towing

So, I have a 2004 Tahoe Z71 5.3L with 156k. I am looking to possibly get one of two travel trailers that has a gross weight of 4500-5300 pounds. I would like to keep the Tahoe, but I'm afraid of not being able to pull that much weight up any incline or mountain. Is there anything I can do to...

    Front diff capacity?

Just drained my front diff for an axle seal and refilled it up with 1.5 quarts.
  24. Bigbertha78

    Oil pan gasket

Only thing you will have to worry about is the cross member under the pan and the front diff. If they are low enough, you will not have to remove or lower them down.

    Front diff driver axle seal

No grooves on the axle shaft, and I will have to replace the seal with a better quality part and go from there. Maybe when I installed the seal I might have knocked the seal too far in, and not flush.
