Headers & Exhaust for 97 Yukon 2dr

Hey everyone, thanks in advance too. This information is for a 1997 Yukon 2dr 5.7 Vortech. I am not familiar with these exhaust systems at all so bare with me please. I am trying to find a nice set of headers (don't have to be race or high perforance, just something decent that won't warp) that bolt-on without modifications? I am also trying to find a nice exhaust system that has a deep throaty rumble and not raspy? I also wanted to know exactley what I should do about the 4 O2 sensors? They are frozen in place so I figure we will get new ones. Should the new O2's go back in the same place or is there a better placements? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

Not trying to break the bank on this either, just want something thats nice and durable.

if you are not in california about $1200 can get you jba shorty headers magnaflow hi flow cats, and a cat back system of your choice and four new o2 sensors which should be tossed every 100,000 miles. all bolt on and street legal with no mods needed.Cali would add about $300 more. use only delco or delphi o2 and while they are the same part side to side they are different front to back.

Thanks for the reply and help. I noticed that there are different 2 different types of O2 sensors, upstream and downstream. There is also many different options and I have no idea which ones to get. Can you point me in the right direction?

Why every 100k on the o2 sensors? I have 190k on mine, and nothing is wrong.

They loose accuracy a bit and there response times slow a bit. This effects long and short term fuel trims.

Hey man,

On the upstream that is before the cat. and the down stream is the after the cat just some clarification on that.

I run JBA shorties, magnaflow cats and a borla cat back and it sounds awesome.

Might explain why it burned rich during my move carrying a trailer at 13mpgs... But I still get 17+ unloaded so who knows?

Most of that drop is load but you seem to be doing pretty well with your oe ones. Perhaps you should do the front one at least to see if you can't improve on that tho. If you ever change the cats I insist all be done. The fronts so a good engine burns the proper mixture for the new cats to work correctly and the rear so the cats are monitored as good as possible. The combination of both should make the exhaust as clean and truck as efficient as possible in the role it plays. Be one with the environment. And the vortec.
