So I got the new bearings and seals for both sides and 1 abs tone ring replaced, now I’m struggling with the axles and c clips installation both sides giving same issue and from what I can tell it’s because of the thrush blocker both axle ends are meeting up to it but aren’t seating in the I shaped blocker- whacked it with a mallet no difference installed a c clamp over the hub and nothing . It’s a **** hair from being able to install the c clips and this thrush block is my only guess - axle splines are in but not reaching where they need to be .

Are you sure the bearings are bottomed out on the install and the bearings are the correct application?

It would help if you would supply Tahoe year and what rear axle/diff you have with what gears. C'mon man! We cannot see what you see.

and to add yes -fairly confident the bearings are bottomed out - correct bearing type 513067 replacing a timken/Torrington and to be honest I wasn’t thrilled with bearing fit even though the measurements are exact - the timken didn’t seem to give the issues these “driveworks” bearings did on install (no timkens in stock at local parts stores)- but they are in there past the first ring and wouldn’t go any further.

The abs tone ring in the end of the axle housing is a light press fit. I find it best to put a pry bar in the c clip groove and pry against the carrier to pull the axle in the last bit. You can usually push them in my hand 90% of the way.
